About Therapy What To Expect In our first few sessions, I want to hear the story of your life so that I can come to know you and the pain you're experiencing. We'll sit down together to discuss the reasons bringing you in to see me. We'll talk about your strengths and goals for your life. I want to know your hopes and dreams. You don't need to have a "mental illness" or "mental disorder" for psychotherapy to help you with your life. You can understand your emotions and behaviors, explore your distress and problems, gain a sense of control and meaning in your life, as well as learn healthy coping and problem-solving skills. We will explore meaningful facets in your life to bring you to a stronger, healthier sense of self. My treatment is tailored to your unique needs.
