I have been coming to this salon for many years and have been very happy with their over all SUPERB services. However, after the original owner David Michael left and the new owners took over running the salon it is not the same delightful professional service as in the past. .



My main issue is only with the front desk (manager) and their lack of managerial functions. My last several appointments were with no communication with long wait times, missed appointments, and etc.



My last I visit I waited for 45 minutes only to find out my appointment had been rescheduled for another time and date.



I realize things come up, but the front desk or the manager should have contacted me early in the day. This thoughtlessly activity made me realize this management team has no ability to understand the customers worth, or the quality, or importance of their services.

Since the staff has no regard or concerns for my worth.

Here is my $105 worth



If you want to go somewhere high-end to avoid bad experiences, this place is not for you!



If your from "Out of Town", Save your money and DON'T go to "David Michael Hair Studio" in Paramus unless you want a 20 min shoddy job with a very high price tag.



They socially price profile their customers by a consultation and tell you to fill out a questioner filled with detailed personal questions irrelevant to your hair.



I was clearly sad and unhappy when I left the salon and then returned 15 minutes later to express my dis-satisfaction for the 2nd time. Adding to my dismay the Master Stylist left for the day and no one would be able to attend me, not even the next day!



Master Stylist and Front Desk receptionist did not care. I left with the feelings of being pressured, rushed, hustled and ripped off.

They also wanted me to return and pay an additional $180+ to get what I wanted to begin with!



Left messages on Hair Studio voicemail (201)843-2727 and personally left a hand written card with red short haired front desk receptionist.. Front Desk Diana/Diane, Master Stylist Lindsey and Manager Jeanie never returned calls



At this point, even if they reached out to me I would not go back to rectify my experience.



Would never recommend this place to anyone .

Steve has been doing my hair for at least 10 years. (In fact, I 'followed' him to David Michael's.) Whenever, not often, I've come in with a photo he has always taken time to explain why or why not my hair would look similar due to texture, straightness - or even the amount of time and product that would be required to maintain the look. You can't just show up with a picture and say "Make me look like this!" I really pretty much leave it up to Steve to suggest changes in cut and color and I get *endless* compliments on my hair! And I feel good about my hair too!

David Michael's Salon ruined my hair. I asked for a trim cut straight across. The Girl acted like she cared and was listening. Then did the complete opposite she layered my hair which I said I did not want and cut deep angles into it and hacked at it with thinning shears. She said she knew what was best for my hair. Apparently NOT! They made my hair seem all broken and fly away. They also cut several more inches then requested and layered it when I asked them not too. Very Disappointed! Would Not Recommend!

I switched to this salon about 3 years ago. I went in on a whim and have not stopped going. Nicole does amazing work for a great price. I'm paying less for a cut and color now then I was 3 years ago at my regular salon. I recommend this place (and nicole) to everyone. The rest of the staff is always attentive and friendly. Each and every time I get my hair done, I get compliments!!
