In operation since 1962, The Child & Family Guidance Center is a nonprofit organization that provides mental health treatment for physically, sexually and emotionally troubled, neglected and abused children. It provides prevention, early intervention and treatment services for children suffering from trauma, family disruption, life crisis and mental disorders. The center s staff includes various psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, case managers, special educators, adjunctive therapists and behavioral specialists. Child & Family Guidance Center offers a range of specialized programs for youth, including multisystem therapies and school-based and psychiatric services. In addition, it offers individual and family treatment, assessment services and domestic violence treatment programs. The center also operates Northpoint, which is a nonpublic school and intensive outpatient program for students of ages 5 through 18 with emotional and behavioral problems.
