tenant refridge motor burned out. 911 called. F/D verified no flames or fire at outlet. called down-n-out, michael lamb to check outlet. outlet checked okay with voltmeter. tenant 90 years old walking with assistance, otherwise bedridden. had michael replace plug to assure her plug not a threat. michael checked 3 other plugs all ok. one plug in garage had freezer plugged into small extension cord. asked michael to replace this plug. arrived at 3PM. completed work at 4:35 PM. 30 min in his vehicle preparing invoice. $750. invoice shows replace 5 plugs and covers $625 plus $125 service call. total time labor $625 plus $125 service call. no mention was ever offered on job cost. i am 91 and could only verify that two plugs within my visibility area were changed. i paid by check which he promptly went to bank and cashed same day. when i called him he explained that $150 was mileage charge and $125 was service charge. i did not receive any old plugs that he g claimed to have replaced. i feel he saw two elderly people who he knew were dependent on his knowledge and had to rely on his honesty and integrity. his business card touts "lowest prices in town guaranteed". i will not ever call him again. i also checked his ratings on line and i suspect they were written by michael lamb. there is one new post that mirrors mine. beware, look elsewhere if you want an honest electrician.
