I do not recommend this company to anyone. I am giving them one star only because this site will not let me give no stars. On March 13 of this year, Kentucky Lake Moving and Storage moved my belongings from Bardwell, Kentucky to Frankfort, Kentucky. When the driver and his assistant unloaded furniture and other items, most things were put in the house. However, as the evening wore on, without my knowledge, the two began dumping everything in my shed. Late the next afternoon, I discovered what they had done. I found a large pile of boxes and other items. Everything looked as though it had been thrown into the shed. Ice chests were upside down and a box that had turned on its side was coming open at the top. There were boxes clearly marked “kitchen” and “living room” in the shed. I saw a wooden table and an iron fern stand, both of which belonged in my living room. A quilt handmade by my deceased mother-in-law was there. A none-to-clean city issued recycle can was full of books the two employees of KLMS had thrown in. Among other things, the boxes in the shed contained a video camera, a Waterford clock, a sculpture of a mother and child given to me by my father when my first son was born, and pictures of my family. I wish there were a way to post pictures, because words really do not describe the mess that I found. In addition to all that, the movers did extensive damage to my furniture. Ryan Flota, the owner of the company, did not want to turn the damage in to his insurance company, so he sent someone from a local furniture repair business to my home. That individual came to my home on April 24, 2014, and submitted his estimate to Ryan on the same day. I did not hear anything from Ryan and sent him emails and made phone calls to his company inquiring about my furniture repairs. The latest email I received from Ryan, which was on May 23, stated that his insurance company had received the case on May 14. However, he had not bothered to tell me, and I have not been contacted by his insurance company. The damage done to my belongings has been estimated at well over $3000.
