perhaps the best Japanese food...

perhaps the best Japanese food I've had. A quaint restaurant with lots of old world charm, they recently celebrated their 25th year. No plastic chairs or florescent lights here; traditional pads on the chairs and paper lanterns from the ceiling. Preparing sushi and sashimi is an art form, and the owner ( an older Japanese woman) does it with time honored precision. From the real crab in the California roll the freshness of the veggies used in the tempura, the food is first rate. Prices are moderate. I usually order the Calif. roll ($6) or the Hotate roll ($8) and a bento box dinner ($17) which consists of miso soup, a salad, rice and choices of entrees served with tempura or sashimi, all with generous portions. Nothing showy or fancy here; just fresh well prepared Japanese food served in a pleasant and quaint surroundings.
