For fifty percent of my time, I conduct a private practice of general psychiatry in Pacifica, CA and Sacramento, CA.  I see patients and prescribe medications, as well as conduct psychotherapy. My forensic neuropsychiatric practice has occupied the remainder of my time throughout the last fourteen years. I have been retained in many major cases involving a variety of civil as well as criminal cases.  Most of these involved neuropsychiatric evaluations, including detailed analysis of early life history, drug intoxication, and/or brain damage.  I have been extensively involved in the scientific evaluation of brain damage, as well as drug and alcohol intoxication, and the resultant dysfunction as it related to the social and cognitive behavior.  I have also served as a consultant to the California Medical Board, reviewing cases and giving examinations.  I also served on the Ethics Committee of the Sacramento-El Dorado Medical Society. Recently, I have been involved in research relating brain damage as a cause of disturbed behavior. In civil cases, I have been retained slightly more often by plaintiff than defense attorneys. I have evaluated clients for neuropsychiatric disabilities in personal injury suits, sexual harassment, and disability claims.
