The Oxford Volunteer Fire Department, also known as OVFD, is an independent nonprofit organization that offers fire suppression and protection and emergency medical services. The department receives funds from donations and hosts fund raising events for capital projects. It organizes meetings and fire drills. Located in Oxford, N.J., the department offers a junior firefighter program for youths between the ages of 14 and 18. The Oxford Volunteer Fire Department conducts Halloween parties, golf outings, live band performances and fire prevention classes. It employs a fire chief, captains, lieutenants and firefighters. The department maintains a fleet of firefighting equipment, as well as responds to emergency calls.
