Michael Townsend, MD, a board-certified physician in internal medicine, enjoys building long-term relationships with his patients. Those connections are why he joined the medical field. By getting to know patients over the course of their lives, Dr. Townsend and his team provide personalized, whole-person care. For over 25 years, Dr. Townsend has served the Volusia County community with warm-hearted compassion. Before joining the AdventHealth team at Ormond Beach, Dr. Townsend spent time in Little Rock, Arkansas. There he graduated from the University of Arkansas College of Medicine, where he also completed his residency. When not visiting with patients, Dr. Townsend maintains his own healthy lifestyle by making smart food choices and staying active with family and friends. He follows his own advice to patients and balances a busy work schedule with adequate time to rest, rejuvenate and renew.
