email me at [email protected] for the entire story but the most important thing to know is the company changes their name of owner every time the the better business takes their dot away from them. It's a large Indian family that just swaps ownership and continues to scam people, destroy their belongings, store it in a non temperature controlled environment, charges you double for you to get your stuff back and makes you feel completely helpless. When they do deliver, they destroy the walls to the house. The people that work their are horrible. They are extremely friendly until day of delivery and then it's like you have been tricked and deceived. A nightmare.

Safe Way Moving & Storage originally quoted $1800 for 900 Cubic Feet for my move from Atlanta GA to Tybee Island GA on 3-31-16. They took $327 as a deposit for the move..The move began on 4-15-16. The movers altered the quote to read 800 Cubic Ft reserved + 150 more Cubic Ft afterwards, than what was on original quote totaling adding to the $1000 more than original quote. They changed the 900cf to 800cf on the contract, which I did not see until arriving in Tybee.m
The movers did not make me aware of the additional $1000 until we were two hours out of Atlanta. They held my furniture hostage until I paid the difference of $2505.48, and would only take cash or money order so I would have no recourse. It took the movers 7&1/2 hours to drive 293 miles.
The movers demanding the $2505.48 be paid before unloading the truck. Reluctantly I gave them the $2505.48 so I could get my furniture. They dumped my household good in my new home and then informed me they could not re-assemble anything they dis-assembled in Atlanta.
Today, 3 days after the move, I received a new estimate/quote from Safe Way claiming I reserved 900cf but I went over by 150cf so that quote would reflect what the movers altered in original contract to total $2800 dollars for a one bedroom apartment with no appliances. $3000 dollars for the worst move of my life. We do have recourse btw but it will take time and diligence to receive any money back from Safe Way Moving & Storage located in Orlando, FL.

I wish giving less than one star was an option. I've moved my home several times in Virginia and always had the pleasure of using a local mover. When it came time for a big move from VA to FL safeway moving was suggested to me. The Yelp reviews looked ok but when I got online later I was highly upset by the poor reviews and discussion of people not receiving their items and taking class action lawsuits. I was quoted a reasonable price actually what my local mover would charge but that price doubled when the movers arrived two days earlier than expected. Luckily I was able to accommodate their need to move me earlier and thankfully I had the extra 2000 needed for them to move me that day! Vans who organized the quote and move date told me that I would receive my items within 7 days so I did not pack extra necessities since I was insured my items would arrive. They did not arrive on expected date and I then learned that they were being held in storage in Richmond VA while I've been in FL for the past week. I spoke to the customer service department and Susan will be kind to you once then you will be ignored. It took countless calls and me contacting a federal transport agency to get my items weeks later. Of course, countless items were destroyed. A computer worth over 2,000 was broken, my hand made purchased pottery set was destroyed. I had taken great care to bubble wrap and towel wrap everything but it was clear that the plastic Rubbermaid boxes where just thrown in trucks multiple times. Safeway never cared about me, my items, or the stress that they caused me. I'm still in the process of working with their 3rd party contracted company to see if I can get any items replaced but given my experience I'm prepared for another disappointment. This company which is basically a scam, they have multiple complaints with the federal regulatory agency, and offer the worst customer care I have ever experienced.

This is by far the worst moving company ever. Spare yourself the agony and find a different moving company!! Their estimates are purely fictional - they email you an estimate then increase the amount by thousands of dollars on the day of your move and make you to pay the balance on the spot. Their customer service department is close to non-existent. Repeated phone calls go to dead air and full voice mail boxes. Representatives tell you they will call you back or email information which then does not happen. The lead person who showed up at my house to pack and load our items became very rude and disrespectful. When I scheduled our move date I was told by the representative that our items would be delivered within 7 to 10 days, however, we did not see our stuff for 3 weeks. There were a lot of broken items which I discovered while unpacking which included the plastic framing of a large, flat screen tv which now needs to be sent off for repair. Another large, flat screen TV was accidentally left on the delivery truck and I was not able to get it re-delivered for an additional 3 weeks. When our stuff was unloaded local contract workers were hired to do the work. One guy was completely unfit and practically threw a fit every time I said something needed to be taken upstairs. In summary, trying to move with this company will cause you a ton of stress and aggravation. Best to pay more if to hire a reputable company.

This is perhaps the worst moving company to deal with. They are brokers, they work with independent contractors that will ask you to pay cash (they will bill your credit card upfront for their fees, but they will leave you at the mercy of the independent contractors). Despite their "Binding Contracts", they will increase your moving cost, using intimidation tactics or a very rude behavior.

More, the service is very unprofessional. For example, our movers came with a rental truck!.

They mention free insurance but it is not true, you don't get access to that, actually, it will cost you more to use the "free insurance". And the actual insurance, I believe that goes to their own pockets, because there is no way to deal with their rude and low-level customer service.

Also, their direction is actually a Regus office!. These guys do not have their own offices, less their own trucks.

Beware of these kind of companies!!!!. Work with professionals.

I hired Safeway Moving and Storage for a move from Florida to Illinois. During the loading process, which took 8 hours for a one bedroom move (from 6pm to 2am) the movers a) made sexually inappropriate comments towards me until I called a male neighbor over, b) forced me to do some of my own furniture disassembly, c) damaged my items, d) yelled at and kicked my cat, and then e) refused to allow me to choose the Full Valuation option, stating I could only pick the limited liability coverage. This was all during or after they loaded my possessions into an unmarked white Enterprise rental truck. The next day, I received several phone calls saying they had lost my check, and I would need to pay them again. I told them I would cancel the check and pay again if I could pay by card so it could not be lost. That's when they sent me an email saying they are holding my belongings hostage in an undisclosed location and won't schedule delivery until I wire the money directly into a bank account.

My move is still in process, so I will update this post with a full review once my household goods have been delivered. However, I would like to point out that most (possibly all) the 5-star reviews are fake. When you look at the profiles of recent 5-star reviewers, you'll notice they've all reviewed only Safeway and another moving company at the exact same time (as if they hired two AMAZING companies to move their stuff at the same time). Very shady.

I have been speaking with both Julie and Susan regarding my disputing of overage charges due to blatant under packing. I have been told three times in my past 45 calls over the past week and will be getting married and going on my honeymoon and have gotten NO response when I call in, email or ask for a follow up from a manager. IT is apparent that they are holding me and my belongings ransom in order to get as much money out of me as possible.

IWhen speaking with the movers, they did not speak good English and the supervisor was only present for the first 20 minutes and the last 20 minutes, so I did not have the opportunity to explain my under packing concern and was only presented with the terms of the agreement after the apartment was packed. The signature on all contracts is time stamped to notate the time I was originally given the document

Overall not too bad. The biggest issue I had was they were late and I had to wait for the driver without knowing how long he would take. Once they arrived they were pretty good. Overall decent experience just could be a little better at keeping customers up to date on pickup time.

I've used 4 other moving companies before... Safeway wasn't the best but they were definitely not the worse. They picked up on time, yes my charges did go up $300 but that was because I did have 102 extra boxes majority wardrobes. My delv was 2 days off my requested, but that's okay I was always updated. What i really like is the girls in the office, now they helped answer a lot of questions every time I had it and I didn't get that bait and switch effect like other companies done to me. They are alright by me

I recommend the services of this company after I got moved from Delaware to South Carolina. All that could have been done (packing, storage and transportation) was done in three days and cost me a low price. The collaboration with the guys was awesome.

It was really nice and pleasant moving that the company organized for me. They helped me go through a packing of a five bedroom house and it was done in less than two days. I am content with my movers who relocated me from Baltimore to Charleston in about three business days. The price was ideally affordable.

This has become the most stressful situation if moving isn't stressful enough already. Customer service seems too good to be true at first, because it is! I had received multiple emails/texts from quality assurance dept that I needed to call them to review inventory so I did and they didn't know why I was calling. Then there was poor communication about when the truck would be here to pick up. They were a day later than they said, told me between 2-4, truck didn't get here until 6pm, never received a phone call and would never have known their arrival time if I hadn't called multiple people! To add to my whole debacle "Ed", called me "kiddo" and talk to me as if I were a child. Being a female, I feel very taken advantage of. I was told 3 times by 2 salesmen I would have PLENTY of space, EXTRA room in the truck for the sqft that I was paying for even after I explained all the bulk inventory items two times to both salesmen. I am being charged an extra $249 for taking up too much space!

The relocation Virginia to Georgia was a nice and calm experience. I was moved on time, in only 2 days, quite earlier than my actual deadline. I paid a price that was a not only affordable but also close to my budget. They work punctually and I would consider using their service again.
