I love Dr. Carolyn! She is so compassionate towards my kitty Zoe.💓 Wouldn't go to any other veterinarian. 😻

I have taken my dog here several times. I have never liked that they tell you the visit will cost $46 and then always tack on something to get it up to about $100. They charge $20 to have any prescription filled there, so you have to pay for the prescription plus $20. (It took me a while and many questions to get them to break down the cost of the prescription into these two amounts.) The last time I went, they wanted to charge me $50 for a prescription of 30 Rimadyl which is an anti-inflammatory. I couldn't pay that much, so I took a lesser amount of 10 Rimadyl which was still $30--$1 per pill and then the $20 prescription charge. I went online to a pharmacy to get a better price for the remainder of the prescription (60 cents/pill). I gave the pharmacy Animal Medical Services' info to approve the prescription. Five days later, I get a call from Animal Medical Services saying that they aren't going to fill the prescription because according to their records my dog's vaccines are not current. They offered to give my dog her vaccines for $55. Well, my dog was current on her vaccines. They made me contact the place my dog had gotten her vaccines and have them fax the vaccination records to them before they would approve the prescription. I did this the same day. They then waited another two days before faxing in the prescription approval. This office represented to me that it was illegal and unethical to write a prescription for a dog if their vaccinations were not up to date. This is not true. They delayed my prescription 11 days-- all the while my dog was in so much pain she could barely walk.

I conclude that this vet is more concerned about putting money in her pocket than helping your pet. I also feel that the office staff deliberately kept information from me, or gave me inaccurate information, even though my questions were very direct. They were reluctant to give me information or help me when there was no money going into their wallet.

Worst clinic!!!!!!! Go somewhere else. These guys were horrible, charged more than quoted, $467 more!!! My dog was still bleeding when they handed her back to me. Worst stitching job I have ever seen. Clinic smelled horrible and was very dirty. Go somewhere else, it will cost you less and your animal will be better taken care of. They quote cheap to book you then switch the pricing at the end. Don't say you haven't been warned if you read this.

They only care about money at this place. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. Dr. Mcguire is the worst vet I've ever had to work with, and her staff is just as bad. I took my dog in for a follow up appointment and the receptionist and the doctor told me it was going to be free. Dr. Mcguire did several tests that she did not get my approval for, and they ended up charging me over $200. On top of that, they gave me the wrong medication and it was making my dogs condition even worse. When I called to ask about this, the nurse said they would have to charge me for another appointment if i wanted to bring him back in. The people that work here are liars, they don't care about you or your pet, and they will do whatever they need, to get you to pay more. WORST. VET. EVER.

Wow this place is awful. The staff is unprofessional, The office smells terrible, you can hear animals in all the different rooms crying which put my cat on end, Dr. Mcguire was in and out so many times I felt like I was being ignored and brushed aside, none of my questions were answered even though I asked them multiple times to multiple people, and not to mention they charged me over $350 for tests that they didn't even ask me about or get my approval for. The worst thing about this office, is that they don't care about you or your pet. They only care about money. I am so angry with Dr. Mcguire and this office, it is my mission to make sure no one else goes through the heartache and frustration I had to go through. If you love your pets, you will find another doctor.

I'm not usually one to leave reviews BUT when I have an experience THIS bad, I want to make sure others don't have to go through the same garbage. PLEASE do not ever take your pet to Animal Medical Services to see Dr. Carolyn Mcguire. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET. They care about charging you as much as possible. I took my kitty in because he couldn't open his eye. She said she would put a stain in his eye to look at it under a black light to see if he had a scratch, but she never even used the black light, but of course they charged me for that test. She said it was an infection, gave me some drops and sent me on my way. She told me to come back in one week to have him checked. A week went by and although his eye looked a little better, I could still tell that there was something not quite right. It looked like he had something IN his eye. Not to mention he started having diarrhea with blood and mucus. I took him in again for his recheck and she said he looked great and that I could take the cone off and be done with the drops. I TOLD HER THAT IT LOOKED LIKE THERE WAS SOMETHING IN HIS EYE AND SHE SAID, AND I QUOTE "OH IT'S FINE". Not ONCE did she use a black light or even a flash light or ANYTHING to look into his little eye. She just looked into the carrier he was in. I asked about the bloody, mucus diarrhea and she said, it's probably his food, and gave me a food that is only sold in her office to try (go figure right?) I brought my kitty home and sure enough, the next morning he couldn't open his eye again. We called the office first thing, the nurse talked to the doctor and said that I should put the cone back on him and continue with the drops for another 10 days. I asked "is she not concerned that it looks like there's something in his eye?" and the nurse said "well if she looked at him yesterday..." and I said "she DIDN'T. I asked her to and she said 'oh it's fine' but i can SEE something in there" The nurse said I could bring my kitty back in, but that they'd charge me (of course, since that's all they care about). I immediately called another vet that was able to see my little guy that day. I took him in, and turns our he has an ulcer in his eye and a bacterial infection called giardia which was causing the bloody mucus diarrhea. I can not tell you how awful Dr. Carolyn Mcguire and her staff are. If my son or daughter had something in their eye and I took them to a doctor that said "oh it's fine" I'd be suing for malpractice. And not to mention all the "little" things about the office. The office STINKS SO BAD. You can tell it is not a clean place. The staff is just grumpy. I'm new to owning a cat so I had a lot of questions. They were all very short with me. Since I was a new patient for them I showed up to my appointment 10 min early. I ended up waiting about 50 minutes to be seen with not even an apology for having to wait that long. When I got there they said the price would be $45, but they did a bunch of tests that they didn't tell me about or get my approval for, so when I went to pay my total was over $200. Just, PLEASE take your pets somewhere else. This office is a joke and I honestly don't know how they are still in business.

Non-caring Vet

On 03/22/11 I took my little min-pincher in for a bad tooth.I had asked for a call back on what is happening and what needs to be done..Didn't get a call until afternoon telling me 2 teeth were removed.Half hour later I got a call stating 3 teeth were pulled..Told me she would be ready to pick up between 4pm or 5pm.I showed up early to talk to someone about what happened.I asked if they are hard up for money and they just pull teeth just because..When I got the bill I asked why so high in cost. They told me they had to pull 5 teeth..I was so in shock that I felt like I took a member of my family in to see the doctor and a total different operation was done on my family member that was NOT requested or told it was going to be done!!No antibiotics were given, but yet when I got home my brother told me if she has had gingivitis she should have been given antibiotics.I called back and she had to ask the doctor, which it was approved. Why?was it needed and forgotten to be given??Or did the doctor fill like Ok I have sucked enough money out of this customer,so why don't I just sell her something maybe her dog doesn't need..No follow up was done to see how my dog was doing..So I feel This doctor and this business doesn't care, and I have NOT STOPPED TELLING people and will make it a mission To tell other people who take their animals to a clinic, that THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE OR A LOVING PLACE FOR THEIR PETS...STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC!!!
