Founded in 1994, Prairie Wind Elementary School serves more than 800 students in kindergarten through grade six. It has over 70 staff members and is a part of Omaha Public Schools. The school focuses on developing math strategies, scientific applications and technology skills. Its special areas of instruction include physical education, art and music. Prairie Wind Elementary School also operates a parent-teacher association that organizes and supports a variety of campus events, such as annual fundraisers, scholastic book fairs, skating parties, family nights and group dinners. The school additionally offers counseling and speech and language services. Located in Omaha, Neb., Prairie Wind Elementary School also participates in the Adopt-a-School program.
