Olathe Public Works Department is responsible for all city construction projects and maintenance within the public right-of-ways, public facilities and traffic signals in the city of Olathe, Kan. Activities associated with these areas are street repairs, street light, traffic signal maintenance, storm drainage maintenance, snow removal, capital improvement administration, project inspection and facility maintenance. With a population of about 90,000, Olathe is the second largest among the 21 communities in Johnson County in Kansas. It is located just 20 miles southwest of downtown Kansas City, Mo. OPWD is a department of the City of Olathe.
