My wife and I purchased Safety Surface for our pool concrete decking for the safety (anti-slip) and the promised aesthetic reasons. We paid $7,291.20 for the supposed solution. We dealt directly with Gary Caskey, CEO of Safety Surface (www.safetysurface.net). Gary assured us that this product would adhere to any surface but glass or plastic. Before buying, Gary assured us the quality and reliability of his product. Gary told us multiple times, "This will be the last surface you will ever have to put around your pool". Basically, stating that the Safety Surface would last a life time or at the very least, a very long time.It lasted for almost a year before we started having problems; the surface looked and felt good for several months. Then we started having problems!! The surface started coming up in places. Gary and his crew came out and patched the problem areas. The patches look horrible (see pictures at https://plus.google.com/101099600008284381699/about?hl=en ). We continued to have areas come loose and thinning to the point where you can see the concrete below. Gary and his crew patched multiple areas over the years. The material has continued to deteriorate and, basically, fall apart in many places. Our pool area looks absolutely horrible.After years of ugly patches, we finally got Gary out to discuss a resolution. We asked him if he would take it up and replace the surface after we acid washed the concrete, which he said "may" help. He told us that it was not his responsibility because it was obviously our concrete and not his product. He never mentioned the possibility of it not working in his sales process. He just said that it would adhere to anything but glass and plastic and it would be the last surface we would ever need. We never would have paid that kind of money for a "possible" solution. Gary only offered to replace it at his cost to replace the entire area that is deteriorating (It will still cost us approx. $4k). We are definitely not going to pay more money to Safety Surface to likely have the same problems within another year only to have more hideous looking patches applied.Since Gary Caskey and Safety Surface will not stand behind his promises and product, we are now forced to look into our legal recourse with Gary and Safety Surface. Either way, we will be looking for another option to cover up our $7,300 mistake. Well, long story short, we started having problems within a year and has continued to deteriorate more every day. Gary and his crew has patched the problems multiple times. BTW, whatever warranty they are offering now, make sure that it doesn’t just include patching the problems areas, the patches look terrible (see pictures at https://plus.google.com/101099600008284381699/about?hl=en ).



The bottom line: Gary will not stand behind his promises and product, we are now forced to look into our legal recourse with Gary and Safety Surface. Either way, we will be looking for another option to cover up our $7,300 mistake. I hope this helps others from making the same mistake.
