What's Different About Into Action? It's simple. If you've heard horror stories about sober living, we want you to know that this is the real deal. We are not and never will be a "flop house". Members must not only be serious about their sobriety to live at Action House, they must prove it through their willingness weekly to: 1. Follow house rules. 2.Maintain their sobriety at all times. Tested a minimum of once per week. Alcohol tested throughout week. 3. Have sponsor within 1 week. 4. Contacting sponsor throughout week. 5. Make regular progress on step work. 6. Hold a job (Must obtain job within 2 weeks of moving in) Our Primary Purpose: To provide a comfortable and quality sober living environment in surroundings conducive to recovery, spiritual growth, and personal development through the action of the 12 Steps, which helps the member find a power greater than themselves which helps them to live successfully as sober men. The Program Every day an alcoholic/addict goes without having a paradigm shift in his thinking/consciousness, is another day risking drinking or using again. Therefore, we require that our members regularly attend 12 step meetings, but we also feel that attending meetings without working the program is not enough to have a healthy sobriety. Therefore, we also require our house members obtain (and use) a sponsor, work the steps, hold a job, and eventually move on to sponsoring people themselves as the real medicinal affect of the 12 steps is... One alcoholic helping another.. Verified Meeting Attendance Meetings are the building blocks of a healthy recovery program. 12 Step meetings help create a network of support, a pipeline for education in working their program of action and sobriety. It also provides a safe place they can turn to. We not only require meeting attendance and proof of attendance. Service Work Ultimately, the goal is to remain sober and grow in our recovery. To do this, we must grow in our ability to be of service. First we consider members holding other members accountable as the first step towards service work. Secondly, by seeking other alcoholics to work with, being available to neighbors in need, and by keeping the house in excellent shape for those who come after us. Employment Residents are required to work. However, in addition to full or part time jobs, this work may take the form of schooling, additional meetings, additional church activities/commitments, and volunteer work. Obtain and Use a Sponsor Our residents agree to obtain a sponsor within 10 days. The sponsor sign an Intent to Sponsor form in which the sponsor agrees to take them through the steps in 60 days and that Action House may check in with the sponsor to verify that the resident is calling daily, accomplishing homework, and following directions. Phase and Points Based Living We have a phase and points system in which everything is based on the philosophy that individual action = reward. Phasing up is based on completing the 12 Steps, which leads to more entitled house privileges (and respect). Whereas the points system is based on providing anyone, mostly regardless of phase, a method to earn points for healthy actions and spend them on one time rewards (ranging from weekly fee discounts to curfew extensions.) Accountability This is the probably Into Action's biggest difference. We actually expect and verify regularly that our men are doing what they signed up for, which is progressing in their program of sobriety and daily life.

A great place to work a serious program of recovery. Decent property with residents who are serious about there recovery. I recommend Into Action if you want a structured environment without the Oxford house systems.

Unfortunately, I've had the misfortune to live in several sober living houses. I can say, hands down, this is the best I've found. There are only 4 men to each section of the house. Each "quad" has 2 men per bedroom, 4 men per living, kitchen and bathroom areas. The quad is spacious and laid out perfectly. The rules require that you attend AA meetings, obtain a sponsor and job and take action in your recovery. They push you to excel in your program with a reward system and in the flip side of that, if you aren't doing what you need to be doing there are consequences. I would highly recommend Into Action if you are serious about working a good, solid AA program and are looking to fellowship with men, who are seeking the same thing.

My entire life has become unmanagable because of drinking and drugs. If that pertains to you even a little, then this house will be your best option. If you are anything like me when I was wondering to go thru with entering into this then you are probably worried about losing your freedom and envision it as some kind of jail. Well it is not like that. The whole process teaches you to be responsible or your actions and gives you the tools to stay sober all while still being able to have a life. The house is large and clean and the rates are reasonable compared to finding any other place. If you have found that you can't deal with your addiction on your own, this house and the people in it will be the best help you can get. From other people I have talked to who have been to places like this have said this is the best sober living house available. Don't hesitate. If there is an opening, take it

Into Action has two sober living houses. One in Edmond and one in Okc. I live in the Okc house which is clean, spacious, in a good location for jobs and aa meetings. Into Action offers a structured sober living plan and holds you accountable through daily reporting. We are responsible for getting a job, aa sponsor, attending set number of meetings, doing step work, house chores, aa readings and life skills like maintaining a budget. This is not like most "sober living" houses where all you need to do is pay rent. If you are serious about getting sober, then make the call.

Into Action is just what they say they are. This is a serious and safe environment upon which I’ve depended to offer me a substance-free home base where I can launch and successfully maintain my recovery. It’s not a weigh station; it’s a home. The support and accountability is first-rate, and looking back I can’t imagine starting my path to sobriety anywhere else. I’ll always be grateful to and for Into Action!

All I have to say is that if your tired of doing the same old thing and are looking for a place that will actually help you then this is the sober living house you should check out. The house in okc is full of great guys who only want to see you succeed and will help however possible. There is no telling where I would be today if it wasn't for this house.

This (I'm at the Edmond location) has been the perfect place for me to get back to living right without needing drugs or alcohol. The location is perfect even if you are not driving (like myself). The people I have been living with care about making improvements in their lives and in mine. I love the stability and the accountability that this house offers, as those are the 2 things I was lacking in other sober living environments. I highly recommend this place!

The house is impressively run. It's clean and well-structured. It is obvious they care whether their residents succeed in sobriety or not. There is a reward system which incentivizes progress towards living a sober life and other specific goals which the resident makes on his own. The owner is very good about listening to concerns about the house and remedying any problem, including purchasing things for the house to make it more comfortable. I highly recommend considering this house if you are serious about "living sober." Don't bother if you intend to just go through the motions for a while until the heat is off of you so you can go back to drinking or using.
