I wake up every Sunday at 6:30am and take my pre workout looking forward to going to the gym. I have church at 8 and the gym opens at "7" so 30 minutes is sufficient time for me to workout and shower and to get ready for church. Every couple times a month the worker would show up 5 to 10 minutes late and thats fine by me because i know things happen. Let me tell you....today was the worse. Not only did my pre workout go to waste but the worker was not even there after 30 minutes. I ended up just going home to change for church. There was probably over 15 people waiting for the gym to open but they got frustrated and left as well. I understand being late 5 minutes but being late 30 plus minutes is unacceptable. Hmmm..wonder why people give this gym one star?

★☆☆☆☆ Also guys Golds gym is a bit of a scam. Haven't been in over 9 months forgot about my membership and instead of calling to remind me I was being changed and they where no longer able to they continued to charge my "account" the monthly fee plus late fees finally turning my account over to a collection agency. Not once did I receive a call from them in an attempt to collect payment of the last 3 months they they were unable to charge my credit card. Why? Because they knew I'd cancel my account. Why else would they not make contact before paying someone else to do it for them. When I contacted them asking for the last 3 months to be removed and that I didn't even really care that much about the previous 3 months to be reimbursed they refused. They did cancel my account though. Thanks for that. I stopped going because all the creepy guys staring at me while I tried to work out and completely forgot about the contract. They didn't even care about trying to work with me. They've been collecting money from me for over a year without me using their services and still wouldn't credit my account for 3 months. Their customer service isn't the greatest. It's a cheap membership, but it's far from a bargain. (The only reason they weren't able to charge that card is because I had to have it replaced and I forgot about them being on it.) otherwise who knows how much longer they'd be over charging me. I understand I had a contract and that expired 6 months ago. I don't understand why they wouldn't work with a customer who full filled their end of that contract without complaint. You'd think they'd want people to want to come back or send their friends. I highly recommend paying a little extras for the month to month at another gym. Not to mention most other gyms are 24/7 access.

My husband and I were members ...

My husband and I were members at the NW expressway location for over a year. We both had our seperate memberships coming out of the same banking account; they take the payments out biweekly. After a year, I get a call saying my balance was almost $400! I didn't understand how this could be. I ask about my husbands account, and his has been paid, and he is in good standing. I explain that the payment comes out of the exact same account. The girl on the phone agreed and said she didn't understand why I had a balance but said to come in and talk to a manager. My husband went up to the gym multiple times and was told "we can't see the account", or "our manager is in", but not to worry that this would be resolved. They also said they don't understand why the balance is so high, but they would have a manager call us. Surprise, surprise... no one calls. Then, gold's gym sends a bill via mail for $400, and guess what not itamized. So, my husband goes back up there, and same story... manager will call. A week later we get a bill in the mail from collections! and still no manager call. My husband goes back up there and AH, HA! they find out that they have been billing someone else's banking account for a year! (which can explain why no one knows whats going on). We didn't catch the amount because we saw my husbands bi weekly payments coming out, and thought it was for both of us. We were told at the gym, to "call corprate and be the memeber, explain the situation, we don't have the authority to override this mistake." When I made the call the guy on the phone was completely rude. He said other members in my situation realize what comes in and out of their bank accounts, so I am irresponsible for not paying attention (which also says to me that this happens a lot for gold's member, not just me). While, I do realize I probably owe something, they were not very helpful in helping me set up a payment plan, or even being sympathetic for creating a hardship for me! Beware, Gold's is not in it for customer service. Seems to me they are more worried about there $400 dollar mistake than keeping happy members. Otherwise, we would have stayed at that gym for the rest of our lives, but to them the $400 dollars was more important.

So, my gym closed down without notifying their customers and they sold their memberships to Gold's without telling us that either. I found out when Gold''s started debiting my bank account and didn't bother to notify me by letter until days later. I immediately contacted customer service and asked to have the charge removed. They refused because I didn't give a five day advance notice! How can I give a five day notice when I didn't know I was a member until after the fact?? They justify this by saying "it's their policy". Charging someone for something they don't want - I call it stealing! Run!

Golds Gym upper management mus...

Golds Gym upper management must be jerks... I used to go to Aspen, then it changed hands to Penn Athletic, which is the last place I was going before I had my car accident last year at which point I emailed the club asking them to hold my account until I got better... Penn Athletic closed before I got better, so I assumed my account was closed as no one had contacted me with any different information and I had not heard of any further payment requests from them or charges to my credit card. Now, I found out that Golds Gym has been charging my credit card account for a membership they obtained from Penn Athletic in November 2011 when they acquired them (?)... and they have me listed as a gym member when I never signed up for a membership with them, and had no idea I was listed as a member with their gym. They have currently refused to refund my money saying I waited too long to bring it to their attention and ask for a refund... even though I have explained to them the circumstances that led me to not see the charges previously. I have written again directly to their customer service dept requesting they refund my money so that I don't have to take them to court, but I have not yet received a reply. I would be careful about entering into any contract with this company, seems they don't operate on a do what's right kind of business model (based on this experience I am having with them anyway).

a dozen of us have communicate...

a dozen of us have communicated with Golds management, since the NW expressway location has opened,. about an abusively loud instructor they continue to employ (or leave her with microphone access) named Dana. The word is that her and the fitness management, "go way back" and nothing has ever been done to make her stop. It is a power thing with her, and instead of ever contacting them again about her, we are leaving. They will never know where all of the dozens have people have gone because of her abusive voice at 6am, but if they asked their members, they would know. She is the only instructor over there that does this to her students, and management must be too loyal to her to care...Not sure but dont care anymore.

we wont be back

Run as far as you can to another gym. There have been over 200 cars broken into and now they are stealing the CARS. They make excuses ( we rent the building ) as to why they have no security. They couldn't care less. I'm taking my business elsewhere!!

RUN DON'T WALK!!! This gym like so many GOLDS GYMS is poorly managed. Cars are broken into on a regular basis, with no concern from management, even the broken glass doesn't get cleaned up for weeks. Know one returns phone calls or respondes to complaints. Clearly they don't care!!! This gym has only been open for 7 months and looks like it has been 77 years poorly cared for and very dirty! My advice is to stear clear!

No faith in Golds anymore

I needed to pay my BI WEEKLY bill early this week, because I would not have enough in my account this week. Go into Gold's explain my situation to the bratty biotch at the front desk and she applies the total amount ($48.75) just under my name instead of all 3 people on my account. I have spent 3 hours yesterday and today on the phone trying to get a hold of, an apparently imaginary man, Eric. I finally get him on the phone, apparently he DOES exist, and all he does is send an email, he too has terrible customer service, never apologizes for the situation, and to boot pretty much pokes fun at how pissed and frustrated I am! I DO NOT think this will be resolved by tomorrow, Friday, and I'm pretty freaking sure I'll be on the phone in a few days trying to get someone to pay me back 2 $32.50 overdraft fees. I CANNOT WAIT TO LEAVE THIS GYM!!!!!! (This is just on top of my other frustrations with this place.) You are being warned.. do NOT sign up at Gold's!

Golds does not honor promises ...

Golds does not honor promises made to members. I "pre-joined" for the Quail Creek location and was told I could use the other two locations (neither of which are near my home or work) for free until the Quail Creek location opend. Eight months later the Quail locaton is still not open - eventhough the salesman lied and said it would be open in three months. I used the location on NW Expressway a few times and they began charging me. I called the manager and he said: "We can't afford to give away memberships for that long". As if it is my fault, they lied about when the Quail location would open. It turns out they also lied about allowing Quail members to use other locations until it opened. They are a bunch of liars - don't join and don't trust anything the salespeople tell you.
