Short version: Dr. Boyd is competent, caring, and I don’t plan to go anywhere else! I understand more about my eyes and their quirks than I ever have before!

Longer version: My family recently visited Dr. Boyd for exams and new glasses. The office staff were friendly and helpful, and I didn’t feel rushed through the appointment. I was immediately comfortable with Dr. Boyd, and it’s clear that she’s very competent, cares about her patients, and does an amazing job with even the little ones (baby and toddler). When I confessed to not changing my contacts as frequently as I should, Dr. Boyd didn’t use scare tactics, but took the time to explain why it’s so important. She answered my questions (and follow-up questions) clearly, and struck a perfect balance of not dumbing down the explanations, but not using so much industry terminology that I didn’t understand. I understand more about my eyes and their quirks than I ever have before.

I also appreciated the updated exam methods—Dr. Boyd’s office uses retinal imaging to take a picture of the back of the eye (mapping blood vessels, etc.) instead of using dilation drops. As someone whose eyes are already relatively light-sensitive, it was wonderful not to have to deal with dilated eyes for hours after my appointment!

The office has one of the best selection of frames in the area, and the staff does an awesome job at helping choosing frames that look good and fit well—this is your new face, after all!

After the appointment, I have comfortable contacts that will be better for the health of my eyes, and a new doctor that I intend to keep, even if she’s a little out of the way!
