Founded in 1952 and located in Oak Park, Mich., Temple Emanu-El is a reform congregation that provides various worship and spiritiual services. It provides various education opportunities and serves individuals with social justice and recreational activities. It provides support for new members, social activities, youth groups, adult education, and religious committees and schools. Temple Emanu-El organizes a bereavement discussion groups, a monthly healing service and Saturday night social activities. In addition, it organizes festival celebrations and special events for individuals, such as Sabbath and holiday worship. It is a member of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.
