Based in Oak Lawn, Ill., Hannum School is one of the seven schools of Oak Lawn Hometown School District, offering classes for students in kindergarten through grade five. Providing a balanced literacy model including all core subject areas, as well as an array of technology resources, the school additionally offers programs in art, computer, music, physical education, library media and more. It offers a Reading Recovery program for grade one students and a transitional program of instruction for students of non-English background, among others. Hannum School focuses on student safety and implements the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, a national initiative to promote appropriate behavior in all students.
