BBQ is good, but their fish & shrimp are great. They don't overcook it like most places will. The dining area is a bit crowded & noisy, but still worth it for the popcorn shrimp. Staff is always friendly & attentive.

The favorite local barbecue restaurant, Pa-Paw's for many years advertised itself as having the "world's only fat-free pork barbecue". While a reporter discovered that's not the case, their barbecue does have a lower fat content than typical pork barbecue, and it has the added benefit of being delicious. Pa-Paw's offers the well-known Western North Carolina-style pork barbecue, which uses a ketchup-based sauce. The barbecue is cooked over an open-air pit behind the restaurant, the fresh air seems to bring out the flavor of the barbecue. If you're in the county and want pork barbecue, Pa-Paw's is definitely your best choice.
