Paddle through the pristine marsh channels of Cherry Grove and venture out to Waites Island, one of the few undeveloped barrier islands on the east coast where you may see Birds such as Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Ducks, Marsh Hens, and Snowy Egrets, Terns, Oyster Catchers, and Black Skimmers, and large Brown Pelicans, Loggerhead Sea Turtles and Bottle Nose dolphins. Or Paddle on the Waccamaw Lazy River through the peaceful and wild swamps of the low country and enjoy the solitude and serenity that the last remaining pieces that Heritage Trust land has to offer.
