I purposely shopped a moving company that could deliver my mothers furniture in a specific window time frame. I was promised by Lutz ( 561-395-**** ) the furniture would be delivered from Boca Raton to Tampa area on 7-10-08 between 9:30am-10:30am. They picked up furniture on 7-3-08. I called Gerry Gordon on 7-9-08 in the early evening, he confirmed delivery in the a.m. 7-10-08. I waited at the Assisted Living Facility the next day for my mothers furniture. When nothing arrived around 10:00am I called Gerry and he said the truck was in Sarasota unloading a job and would be there in about 1 hr and 15 minutes. I called Gerry back around 11:30am and got the same story. I called Gerry at 1:00pm and got the same story. I called Gerry back around 2:30pm and got the same story. I called Lutz several times as well. I kept calling and Gerry kept dumping my calls off to a dummie line in Ft. Lauderdale (305-763-****) I went back to the A.L.F. the next day at 8:30am because they said the furniture would arrive in the morning. I waited til 11:00 am and no furniture. I called both Lutz and Gerry to no avail. I got the same story from Gerry about the truck will be there after the finish up with a delivery, by 4:30pm Gerry said that the truck broke down and it had to be fixed, so the furniture would arrive the next day. I told him I wanted to see the repair bill. He obviously has caller ID and decided to dump our phone calls to the dummie line. He wouldn't take our phone calls at all. Ignored us completely or hung up on us if we called from a phone that he didn't recognise. I used friends cell phones to try to make calls to them. Lutz also said that he couldn't talk to us anymore and would repeatedly hang up on us. This went on until Monday. On Monday, I contacted my lawyer to give Gerry a call - he responded to her that the furniture would be there in 48hours. The furniture arrived the next day in the morning. We found out, thru the driver, that Gerry contracted another mover called American Movers out of Colorado (303-402-**** - Tina ) to move the furniture from Miami warehouse to Tampa area. One guy to unload. He unloaded the furniture. He handed my brother a bill for the full amount, he told my brother that he was in Miami last night to pick up the furniture from the warehouse and drove it over. The driver was told by Gerry that Gerry refunded our money back to our credit card and that he, the driver, was to collect the full amount from us. I called AMEX and they said that there was no such refund ( as of 7-15-08 ) and that they had charged our credit card and that the charge was paid to AAA Affordable & Reliable Moving on 7-3-08. I didn't pay American Movers because I had already paid Gerry for the move. Tina from American Movers called me and I explained the whole situation from the beginning to her. Then she called Gerry to discuss what happened - she wasn't happy AT ALL. She told me she has been trying to call him back and keeps getting sent to the 1-305-763-**** line, that phone line goes nowhere. Problem is that all the furniture was not delivered. I am still missing 4 legs to an antique writing desk. I'm not sure if Gerry still has them in his warehouse or if Tina's driver has them mixed in with the rest of their load. I asked Tina to have the driver look for them and UPS COD them to me. But if she doesn't have them then obviously Gerry does, but he won't respond to my phone calls or emails. I have had to get a lawyer involved to sue the company as well as Lutz and Gerry individually. With all the added expenses I incurred because of Gerry, I find this company NEITHER AFFORDABLE or RELIABLE. I will never use them again or recommend them.
