In Dec. 2007 I went to see Dr. Stolyar for a consult on veneers.She recommended the life time porcelain veneers and on Jan.10,2008 I went in for some prep work.The lab tech John,who would be making my veneers came by that afternoon and I explained to him exactly what I wanted.I already had a great smile but wanted that perfect,white, "Hollywood Smile".I told him that I wanted them very white, each individual tooth straight (I was having the 6 front upper teeth done), and all of them even & straight across.I showed him a picture which was up on the wall so he would have a visual of what I wanted.He said that he would take his time and make them,make them perfect and give me a perfect "Hollywood Smile".I was to get my veneers 2 weeks later.It was 2 1/2 weeks instead.When Dr. Stolyar & her assistant Angie went to put them in it was a nightmare.They were short,crooked,uneven and yellow.I was inconsolable for 1/2 hour.I had just endured a great amount of pain expecting the best only to get the worst.Dr. Stolya & Angie tried to calm me down & promised that they would get the tech to redo them & do them right this time.He came down to the office and I told him that I was disappointed that he had done such a shoddy job.I was reassured again that they would be done right.My new veneers were supposed to be ready on Feb. 4th.When I called the office I was told they would not be ready until Thursday the 8th.I had been promised they would be ready on the 4th for try-in because I had to visit my hubby who was working out of town for Valentine's Day & his birthday.Angie & Dr.Stolya guaranteed me they would be ready for sure on the 11th.My husband & I were very upset because this was the 2nd time that she had not lived up to her word.We told her assistant Angie that if on Thursday the veneers were not satisfactory I would be going to another dentist to have the procedure completed,reversing the insurance payments and we would be consulting with a lawyer for compensation for pain & suffering.Being in the medical field myself (X-Ray Tech) I told her that I would make sure that the Dental Board & the public know of her incompetence and failure to deliver and if need be picket in front of her office.They threatened to call the police on me.I told them that in America you have the right to protest peacefully on publice property and there was nothing she could do.She should have nothing to be scared of if she was going to uphold her promise and be a reputable dentist.On Thursday Feb 7th I called to see if my veneers were in.I was told that Dr. Stolya was refusing service and not going to complete the job and opted to leave my mouth in shambles.Now I have to go through the process of getting all the charges reversed,getting another dentist to fix her mess, suffer for at least 2-3 more weeks maybe more.In the meantime I will not make it to New Orleans to see my husband for Valentines and may not make it for his Birthday in March.I am going to be tied up for a couple of weeks trying to deal with this nightmare.I felt it was very important that I print this review because I don't want anybody else to experience what I went through.A word of advice Dr.Stolyar makes empty promises,does not deliver,has an incompetent technician working for her and could possible leave your mouth messed up like mine is right now.If you want to experience that then by all means get her to do your veneers, but are you really willing to take that chance.? By the way she made a mouthgard for my husband that doesn't cover all of his teeth.Her assistant Angie was the best one of the bunch and seemed to know what she was doing, but once I saw that she was willing to protect and unethical dentist and lie to me as well. I lost all respect for her.Please do your homework when looking for a dentist.Oh yeah just to give you an idea of what this is costing it is approximately $4000.
