Great Thrift Store that supports our local charities

There are 3 thrift stores around us and I can not tell if they donate to our local community , but hometown save displays the percentage of donations and it all stays here. My choice is the Veterans

I Belong to a sober House in Attleboro. it's a secure, safe atmosphere

to learn how to overcome the behaviors of dependency's from alcohol and drugs.

To become a member of society once again. After learning how to cope with this disease.

The Holidays are really tough on us. with loosing family and friends up to loosing everything in life. I came into “HomeTown Saver” as a avid shopper of Thrift Stores (yes I've been to them all)

It's great to find the bargains That retail doesn't have or even the low prices that they can't touch. I was greeted warmly from the staff and Mike. Given the opportunity to brows thru their shop and the conversation was very pleasant and warm.

Not like most donation stores that they treat you like a ghost until you reach the register, then their happy then to take your money.

When I was in HomeTown saver, I mentioned to Mike that my Sober House Had no Christmas Tree or decorations. A few days past and I went back to the store to check out what's new,Mike turned around and told me that he'll Donate his Christmas Tree, with lights and ornaments that was on the tree and a bunch of decorations for my house.

I was astonished with his generosity! He would not take no for a answer and I couldn't say thank you enough times to justify His act of kindness. Again The Holidays are very hard on alcoholics and drug users. Depredation strikes deep Mostly for the ones that are trying to do the right thing and stay clean. I'm 100% sure that Mike's Kindness Saved at least one person's Life this Holiday. I'm Sorry but Try seeing that generous behavior and act of kindness in a another Thrift Shop. Good Luck !

Think this a wonderful idea. Giving back to the community! I asked before I brought stuff in. I'm sure the store has times when it can get pretty full with items and time to reorganize. Common curtesy would be to call or message before dropping anything off .

An asset to the community! When you support a small, local business owner everyone wins! Reading the one "low star" comment, I can't help but think the owner of the couch was just wanting to unload it somewhere, now being "forced" to rent a U-Haul? No, this person should have called first (like I did for my donation) and have had a "plan B" if the item was unable to be donated at this location. Not fair to blame Hometown for her lack of preparedness.

Amanda, maybe a call could have alleviated both your frustration, and this unfortunate bad review of a GREAT resource for the North Attleboro area. I found Michael to be accommodating, honest and genuine. He had posted the store was going to be closed for reorganizing. I understand your frustration. Keep them in mind in the future!

So unfortunate I cannot even begin to describe how upset I am. Michael wouldn't take my couch which was in useable condition and now I am forced to pay for a uhaul to bring it to a donation center because I don't have a vehicle to transport it. You'd think someone like that would want to help someone who is struggling!
