We were thrilled when we first looked at an apartment on this property, as it has everything we were looking for and was in our price range.



We applied, got approved and even signed a lease.



They require FUTURE tenants to get the electric turned on before move in (its a requirement and they want verification of the account with your name on it).



They also REQUIRE renter's insurance, which we also had to provide them with a copy of the policy.



Lastly, even though you jump through all these hoops with income verification, background and criminal check, rental history check, references, etc., unlike most complexes that is not enough to get your keys and move in.



Like I said before we were approved or so we thought.



After all of the normal and not so normal requirements were met, we still had to wait almost a whole week for the Property Manager to approve move in.



RIDICULOUS! WE had paid part of our security as the rest to be paid when we picked up our keys (normal), we signed a lease because we were approved (normal) but even after all that, no keys, no managers approval.



Not sure why so much CRAP to move in, if we were deadbeats who do not pay their rent, we would not have been approved to begin with.



I believe these are discriminatory practices and I have sent a complaint to the General Attorney's office.







Had we been on government assistance or Section 8, we would have probably moved in by now.







NOTE to MANAGEMENT: Regardless of what proofs and verifications you ask for, there is no guarantee that anyone who looks as a great tenant on paper will not turn out to be a scumbag who doesn't pay their rent.



It cannot be helped regardless of what policies you enforce and all you do is scare away decent, honest and hard working people who are doing the right thing.



Pretty soon you will be left with a ---- hole with nothing but drug dealers and people on a lifetime of government assistance before you give everyone else too much CRAP.



People could make $50k a year when they move in and LOSE their job, you cannot help that.



You could also have someone unemployed who cares about their credit and pays their bills on time because they do what is called SAVE for a rainy day.



Yes, some people still do that.



And Lastly, despite the bad economy those of us who pay our bills and have great credit take pride in it and it is not acceptable for you to treat people this way.



If this is AIMCO policy, then I suspect AIMCO in Denver will soon have a rude awakening, because poor people on Section 8 or welfare usually do not complain or make their voices heard, but the rest of us do.



So you can keep your apartment and stick it where the sun don't shine...YEAH I said it Ms. Deana soon to be out of a job.

Very bad experience at royal crest estates. Over priced, cheap apartments, rude management, its like being at camp with all their stupid rules! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, oh and if you do decide to move in, then realize you made the wrong choice, make sure you have your white gloves on to check for dust, or they will charge you. even the slightest imperfection you end up with a bill with a long list of bogus charges !!
