We did not purchase our Maytag fridge from Canhams, but have used them several times for service. Most recently, they dropped our first appointment from their schedule without telling us. A repairman came the next day and told us the problem with the fridge was a relay switch, which was much cheaper than replacing the compressor, but he needed to come back with the part and they would reschedule the visit. When I called to reschedule, Canhams said we would need to replace the compressor also, because replacing the relay would probably blow the compressor. They also said replacing the compressor would need to happen in their shop, about 35 miles from my house, because of the danger of fire when replacing it. When I called another service person, who would not be able to work on my fridge because it was too far for him to come, he laughed and said he couldn't imagine that either problem Canhams gave would actually happen. I think Canhams just want to sell me a new fridge.
