This was the second attempt to solve low ice maker performance and inadequate cooling issues. The first service replaced the rear panel in the freezer which was supposed to fix the design issue that rendered the ice maker fan inoperable by the addition of a defrost element that prevents ice build up around the fan, thus burning out the fan motor.
This service was in response to low ice production and frozen food softness. We never bothered to check the temperature in the refrigerator section. This service was not successful as "no anomalies" were found using whomever's diagnostic process that was used. I assume it was LG's, but I don't know that.
This resulted in noticing - after everything tested normal - that the temperature in the refrigerator section is in the low 50's and has stayed there for over 12 hours.
Sears Appliance Repair has been unable to diagnose and repair the issue this unit suffers from. As I have, at Sear's urging, purchased their service contract, this and any subsequant repairs are on Sears. They can't/won't schedule an appointment for two weeks?
Tuesday morning - Monday is the Holiday - I will be on the phone with Sears to see if I have to sue them or if they are willing to accept that their obligation goes beyond taking $400 dollars and expecting me to allow them months to resolve a problem that should take Sears and LG days.

I always call Sears repair service for major appliance repairs because they have been constantly excellent in ease of setting appointments, reliability, and professionalism. It doesn't matter where you bought your appliance either!
