Went today for the first time. First time at any range for my wife and I. Being noobs we were a bit intimidated at first. We explained this to the person at the range counter and was delighted to find him helpful and knowledgeable. He suggested some pistols to try and explained the function of each without a hint of hesitation or grief. The 10 for $10 deal is fantastic for someone like us who weren't sure of which gun to buy. The range safety officer was helpful and kind as well. Just great people who know how to treat customers.

Went here with a friend to use the range wanted to try out a glock 26 before I bought it. Had to wait in line a while but when they called us up they had already rented it out to another guy who had gotten there almost 20 min after we did. I brought it up to the guy at the counter but was basically told too bad and I’d have to wait till he was done. Needless to say I was pissed and they pretty much talked themselves out of a sale. Very poor customer service

Hoffman's is a great place to go if you have a good idea of what you are looking for. I went in to buy my first pistol. I had it narrowed down to a few pistols I was interested I was interested in before walking in. I was greeted as soon as I walked up to the counter and asked about the pistols I was interested in. The gentleman showed me all 3 and suggested I tried it out in the range before making my purchase. Shot it, loved it and bought it all with maybe 45 minutes of being there. Awesome first experience.

I don't blame them for not always being able to help at the sales counter right away, the number of customers often tripples the staff. Patience. Range is what I really go for. Friendly and knowledgeable always. My go-to range.

Good prices, good selection. The customer service is good once you get service. The intial contact is a little slow but friendly staff once you get someone's attention.

Highly recommend Hoffman Gun! The class was well taught by our instructor Tim and I especially found it enlightening about the true definition of "defense".

Great experience today with my first purchase after getting my permit. Peter, a manager asked me if I needed any help within a minute of entering the store. He made recommendations... they had a seasoned worker (Dennis ) take me to the shooting range to try 3 gums out. He said it was $10 a gun, 10 bullets each. Peter gave me a mini lesson too, worth at least $50. After the range shooting I went back to Dennis and selected a gun. He was so friendly, efficient, helped me select everything g from holsters, bullets, ear protection, cleaning kit...etc. I was impressed. I then added, I wanted a small concealed weapon along with my 9 mm. He was just too good , recommending guns and the accessories. I also was given a free 1 hour range pass for picking Hoffmans first after getting my permit. And-- they didn't charge me the $30 range *and free lesson time. Super nice and gun smart people here. Loved it.

Best place to buy guns and one of the best places to shoot pistols in CT. Friendly staff and great customer service!

Pete behind the counter is a wealth of knowledge , every encounter I've had with him is remarkable and will keep me coming back.

So I was a little nervous because I read some reviews that the customer service wasn't that great. I came in had an idea of which gun I wanted. After test firing it,I wasn't a fan. I believe his name was Edwin suggested 2 others. While testing those my shots were pulling down and left. The range officer on duty Chris gave me some pointers and was very patient. I ended up going with a different gun because of a great deal they had. John was my salesman and he was new but was very professional and helpful. I even talked to the manager about him. As someone who worked 10+ years in retail I know people are quick to complain to management but rarely compliment an associate. I will definitely be back.

My husband and I were unsure of what type of firearm we wanted, so we utilized the 10 for 10 from Hoffman. We tried several different types of guns and each time were given a comprehensive description of the operation of each pistol. They also made recommendations of firearms based of the feedback we have them after shooting. The range officers were always available and very helpful, answering any questions we had. Someone who really stood out in this process, is Dave Lopez. Dave helped me with stance and the correct grip to gain the greatest accuracy. When I thanked him for his help, he replied that this was the best part of his job.

Awesome gun shop. I've been shopping at Hoffman's gun store since 1976. Multi -generational family owned company. Great people , very knowledgeable and amazing inventory and now a indoor gun range to make it even better. Highly recommended.

Hoffmans is a great place to buy your next firearm. They are a extremely high volume shop for good reason , they have some of the best prices in Connecticut.
