Dr. Peters is an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at Columbia University Medical Center, College of Dental Medicine. He received his B.A. in History from Columbia University, his D.D.S. from Columbia University, and completed his post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, a fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and the recipient of the Academys prestigious William G. Shafer Award. Dr. Peters has published in numerous journals including The Journal of the American Dental Association, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology (Triple O), Journal of Endodontics, Head and Neck Pathology, and Journal of Clinic Pediatric Dentistry, among others. He is a member of the Columbia University Oral Diagnostics Biopsy Service, and the clinical oral pathology service located at ColumbiaDoctors Midtown. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Peters teaches various courses, including histology, pathophysiology, and oral pathology and stomatology at Columbia. He also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of oral histology at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Peters is a member of the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association.
