Solid selection and good service, Rain or Shine is a nice umbrella store in midtown. I got a unit on sale and have been very happy. They also have an in house repair man for anyone who purchases umbrellas. They focus on selling steel framed umbrellas, although, the plastic fiber glass units are available the steel frame units are easy to repair... an issue that seems to come up a lot in NYC with the wind.

Judging from email and telephone responsiveness this company does not deserve to be in business. A month ago I sent an email that was never answered. Two weeks ago I called with a question, the woman answering the phone took my number saying she would call back but never did. Today I called with a question and the same woman said "Do you mind calling back in 5 minutes?" I most certainly do mind, and I would not think of patronizing an establishment with this sort of refined "European" sense of customer service, i.e., you should be grateful we are here to sell to you.
