I am a model train enthusiast, and unfortunately there are not many stores around any more that carry model trains. Problem is that most stores have closed because the internet is cheaper and there are less and less people who appreciate the hobby and in New York City where space is a premium not that many people can afford to give away space for a layout.
So it's nice to have a store, one of the few remaining in the area, because when you have the bug, you really want to touch what you're buying otherwise what's the point, you may as well get a simulator for your computer.
The staff was polite and patient and offered to get me anything that I wanted, sometimes it's not worth going online and paying for the shipping.

I visited Gotham Model Trains in person on a trip to New York. I spotted an item in their stock which I inquired about on returning home. They were very helpful, and arranged to sell and ship to me the item in question. I am very satisfied, and will visit again on my next trip to New York City.
