The younger employees are just that, young. But the place is well maintained, very clean. And the owner is amazing. She's very helpful and polite. The first review from 2008, I find very innappropriate-the owner did her job by recommending a lotion, and the customer decided to buy it without trying out a packet first (they offer single use packets of lotion for $5-$10ish). Tanning lotion is expensive, especially based on the quality of the lotion, and if she wasn't satisfied spending $63 BEFORE even trying the lotion, she shouldn't have spent that money. There's $10 bottles of indoor tanning lotion at Walmart, if you want.

This is the best tanning salon I've ever visited, and I consider it my home.

Friendly and clean!

Solar Seasons is really a great place to tan! From my experience the employees are really nice and very helpful and can't imagine they would ever treat anyone this poorly. To me it sounds like people in the previous review are angry at life and the other had buyers remorse and needed someone to blame. They do sell packets of lotion and if you buy one then decide to buy the bottle they deduct the cost of the packet so you actually get to try it for free to make sure you like it before you spend all that money. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good tan! :)

HORRIBLE EMPLOYEES

I arrived at this tanning salon 13 minutes before their posted closing time. My tanning session takes 8 minutes, so I thought I would just make it without inconveniencing the employee. As I walked in, the rude employee said "We're closed." I said "I thought you closed at 5:00" and she responded "We take our last appointment at 4:45." I was 2 minutes late. You think since their customers spend hundreds of dollars on "tanning points" and over priced lotions, they could at least stay open when they say they are. I will not be back after my "points" run out. Every time I've been in for tanning the staff is very rude. If you have a question they act like you are an inconvenience. God forbid they have to clean a bed so you can use it - it may disturb their conversation. There are many different places to tan, and I would not recommend Solar Seasons to anyone.

No Ethics

Products are great. Business ethics are not. I was in there yesterday and the OWNER help me pick out tanning lotion. I picked one that the OWNER said was "warming". It cost me $63.00. I used it there after I purchased it and my skin felt like it was on fire. Kind of like your skin does after you've been burnt very badly ( I was not actually burnt, that's just the best way that I can explain it). I did ask the owner if I could exchange it (the one I was going to exchange it for was more expensive). And she said that they don't exchange lotions because the can't resell them after they have been used-obviously, and the company wouldn't reimburse them. So I was not just out the money, but will have to buy a new lotion as well. I gaurantee I will not be back there and will tell everyone I can know I was treated and that there are tanning salons out there that actually back their products!

I am the owner of Solar Seasons and would like to take the opportunity to respond to the previous review. I helped the customer choose a lotion, I explained that this lotion was a "No Tingle Heat" but that I personally felt that there is still a bit of a tingle to it, she chose to purchase the lotion. She used it, came out of the room and tossed the lotion on the counter and said she hated it. I told her that I explained that it was a hot lotion, her response was she didn't realize it would be like that. We also sell packets of each lotion, a customer is always told that they can purchase a packet to try first, if they then buy a bottle we will deduct the cost from the bottle. Of course I do not want a customer to be unhappy with their purchase but I also feel a person should take some responsibilty for their decisions as well, I explained what type of lotion it was. As a business owner I obviously can not allow people to "try" bottles and exchange them, this is why we have packets. Any questions can be e-mailed to [email protected]
