Food was okay, wait staff was average but management was rude. There were 4 of us eating and they would not split the bill. He was rude and disrespectful.

I love the Gumbo Pot! Great authentic food. Excellent fried oysters. The gumbo reminds me of my grandmother's homemade cooking! We had wonderful service and you have to try a Bloody Mary! Perfect! Also, if the weather is nice, you should sit on the patio - hopefully the steamboat will pass by and play a song for you!

On my visit to New Orleans, LA we decided to visit The Gumbo Pot only to be disappointed. We waited outside for about 5 minutes at the podium for someone to acknowledge and seat us. It was just our luck we had the manager to do us that favor. What did he do? He yelled about 60 ft away at the entrance of the restaurant "How Many?" Not a hello or welcome to the Gumbo Pot. When we stood there and didn't answer because we didn't realize that he was yelling at us he became upset very quickly and ask again, "Hey, how many?"



So after we were seated we waited about 15 minutes for someone to come to the table. Did he acknowledge or greet us? Nope! He sat down 3 glasses of water and walked off. After watching an older guy come from outside and yell "Hey can I get my check please?" and the waitress yell back, "Yea baby, in a minute”, we realized that this was not the place for us. Oh, did I fail to mention that the manager came over and sat a couple at a dirty table and flicked the crumbs off the table with the menu and pick the rest off with his hands? Don’t even waste your time!
