Atlas America is an independent energy company engaged in the development, production and transportation of natural gas and, to a lesser extent, oil in the Appalachian Basin. The company is the owner of 100 percent of the general partner of Atlas Pipeline Partners. Pipeline Partners owns and operates more than 4,600 miles of natural gas gathering pipelines in Oklahoma, Texas, Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio. In addition, the partnership owns and operates a gas processing facility in Velma, Okla. Atlas America started operations in 1968 and has headquarters in Moon Township, Pa.
