do NOT get city of new bern power if you can help it! in july they started charging the usual late fees for late payments, and now they also charge you a DEPOSIT!!!! then, they say they will make a payment plan for you to pay the outrageous deposit, (which they get by adding you two HIGHEST bill in 24 months) and they break it down to 10% for each month. and you also have to go there to the office every month to ask for a payment agreement to keep this plan, which is going to make it look like you can't pay your bill all of a sudden. looking for the city managers office e-mail now to complain. he makes 140,000 a year, most of us work 11 hours a day, and pay our bills as soon as we get payed. so all we can do is call attorny general in NC. and file a complain, cause charging a late fee AND deposit at the same time sounds illegal. it should be anyway
