My wife and I went to Home Depot and purchased about $600 worth of landscape lighting and wire. We thought this was going to be an easy install. However it took alot longer than we thought as well as the lights were brighter toward the transformer. The farther the lights were away from our transformer the dinner they got. Needless to say we new we wasted our time and money, We live in a upscale neighborhood in Delaware and wanted our home to have the same appearance as our neighbors with out the cost. We contacted Yates Outdoor Lighting to see if they could help. We met Andrew, and walked the property. He then explained how the lights we used and the amount of voltage our little transformer had as well as the amount of wire caused the low light. He then explained how voltage drop works, and how we had too many lights and too much wire. After taking time and patience with us he then us a line of LED lights that not only would last 75% than the lights we used but how his new proposed system would save us hundreds a year in energy cost. Needless to say we love our new LED system by Yates Outdoor Lighting. If your thinking about doing it your self I would reconsider and call Andrew. My wife loves the new system and we saved money in the long run.
