When I discovered this contractor had been recommended by a very particular tile and carpet vendor in town, I decided to let him do a small project on my historic home. He did beautiful work, was always courteous, on-time, and always cleaned up after himself. Since then, I have had him many more projects, including rebuilding the porch and restoring the Yankee gutters on my home. Because the house is historic, he needed to comply with US Secretary of the Interior standards. Even city officials were impressed with his work. You can probably find cheaper contractors, but certainly not better ones. I highly recommend Turner Home Improvements.

We had Turner Home Improvement out to our house after the June 2009 storms. We live in a raised ranch in Pleasant Prairie and ended up with water throughout our entire basement (which is living space in our home). Mr. Turner came in and gave us an estimate for gutting the basement and we also asked him to bid on refinishing the entire space. During the entire bidding process he was extremely helpful and courteous. Having grown up in this house it was hard for me to envision making the space look "different". He gave us suggestions on how we could move some non-load bearing walls to maximize use of the space we have. These suggestions helped us to think "outside of the box" without any pressure. Having that amount of work done to your house unexpectedly, and not covered by insurance due to the fact is was "flooding", can be a very nerve-wracking experience. The patience they showed for us to make our decisions was what made us very comfortable with Mr. Turner from the onset. Overall, we ended up having the family room, bedroom, laundry room, office and storage room completed by Turner. They did drywalling, flooring, staining and installation of trim and doors, window framing and more. The house was always left very clean after their workdays. We previously also had a problem with water coming in our back door during heavy rains...we subseqently has Mr. Turner reframe and replace the back door and have not had any issues since that time. End of 2011 we had them come back in regards to a kitchen remodel and replacement of and trim and doors in the upper level of our home. Our new kitchen is absolutely beautiful, again thanks to many suggestions and ideas from Mr. Turner. One of the things we really appreciated about his ideas was that he kept our budget in mind. He took the time to know his customer and offer ideas that would work within our budget. We now receive all kinds of compliments on the new trim and doors - how it has "turned the house up a notch". Have recommended Turner Home Improvement to others and will continue to do so.
