Email Our consultants will work with families and schools to create a plan of action unique to the individual family. The plan will be based on teaching routine, consistency, and follow through. The consultant will be in the client’s home, initially working side by side with parents and children and then gradually faded out as parents become better skilled and gain confidence. Specific goals and levels of support are highly individualized, and results may be seen immediately or may take ongoing support and practice depending on the specific area of need and behavioral patterns that were previously established. Among other goals, we work with parents on how to:
Be consistent
Focus on increasing good behavior and decreasing bad behavior
Reinforce the behaviors you want from your child
Provide acceptable choices
Stop asking questions when you intend to give instructions
Set and maintain reasonable rules
Discipline instead of punish
Use planned ignoring, and other time tested strategies, to put an end to undesired behavior
