Kevin Reed arrived precisely on time for our service appointment, quickly diagnosed the problem with my furnace (high-voltage short of igniter), and replaced the broken part with an OEM part he had in stock on his truck. During the visit, Mr. Reed was polite, tidy, and did an excellent job explaining exactly what was wrong with the system and how he would fix the problem. I've already scheduled a follow-up visit for seasonal maintenance. Highest recommendation for excellent and responsive service! Thanks.

Great midnight rescue of our gas furnace on a cold winter's night. Got there, diagnosed and fixed the problem (failed ignitor) - had the part on the truck. This was all following an after business hours emergency call that evening. Gave very useful suggestions about future preventive maintenance. Highest recommendation for prompt , effective, courteous service.

Having been strung along by 24 hour service my home warranty subcontractors were not providing, I found Reed through these very reviews. I explained we had been freezing for over a day, and he said he'd get over as soon as reasonably possible. He was an hour early. Honestly if you need more of a review than that, you haven't dealt with the warranty providers. He was great, got it working, had the replacement part, and my house has been thawing ever since. Can't recommend highly enough!

My furnace was short cycling and not producing enough heat for a period of 11 days. After dealing with an inexperienced service technician, I was recommended to Kevin for help...just based on our phone conversation, I knew I was dealing with the right person. He promised that he would do everything to fix my furnace and he did!



He came to my house on New Year's eve afternoon and within 10 minutes diagnosed the issue as condensation in my pipes; he dropped everything to get to Home Depot before they closed to get the equipment he needed for me. With diligence, focus and a great attitude, he completed the job, was patient in answering my questions and made sure the furnace was fully working before leaving my house.



I plan on using Reed Heating for my ongoing heating and A/C servicing and maintenance needs.

Kevin did two jobs for me and both of them turned out well. He installed an HVAC system in the home that I purchased over the summer, and although the time frame expanded beyond what we initially had discussed, the work was completed before we moved in and the quality of the work exceeded that which was done by other HVAC installers at the previous two homes in which I lived.



More recently, Kevin came out and installed gas pipes the week before Thanksgiving so that I could get my new stove working for the holiday. There was a permitting issue (caused by faulty records in Montgomery County), so the inspection did not take place on the originally scheduled day. Kevin quickly got a new permit and we passed inspection the day before Thanksgiving. Washington Gas and Electric actually came out that day (luckily) to give me a meter so what looked like a potentially disastrous holiday worked out well in the end largely because Kevin was willing to put in the extra time to push for a quick turnaround on the inspection.



I rated Kevin 5 stars for these two jobs because I have a lot of experience working with contractors, and I found him to be professional in his demeanor, his prices to be quite reasonable, and, most importantly, he does good work and is willing to come back and fix and adjust things even after receiving full payment. I have worked with a number of contractors during the three home renovations that I have completed, and although many of them did faster work, few of them did better work and were more open to the changes dictated by the preferences of me and my wife.

Kevin came out and did a fantastic job! He quickly diagnosed the whumping furnace (which was delayed combustion - "a bomb"), unclogged the pilot light, and put up with my bad jokes. All after a several hours long client pitch meeting. Kevin told us what he was doing each step of the way, and really impressed with his longevity in the business. He was outstanding, and if you need heating or A/C he is definitely the man!

Kevin Reed came to me with the highest recommendations. Another heating contractor proposed a really drastic and expensive repair for my furnace problem, so I asked Kevin for a second opinion. He agreed with the first contractor's diagnosis, and gave me a more understandable explanation. In addition, he proposed a more reasonable, clever, and cost-effective solution. I would like to thank you for your courteous and neat service. During 3 occassions Mr. Reed respond with a pleasant and helpful personality. This was during an extreme cold spell when many other large major companies responded that they would not come out for service until a week later. Anyone in the cold does not want to hear such a response when there family is cold. Mr. Reed would find a way to adjust his schedule and keep me posted thru out the day as to how close he would be able to repair my heat. A personal service you can not put a price on. Thank Mr. Reed. On January 21, 2011 my furnace quit working on one of the coldest nights of the winter season. With my newborn baby and my wife both looking at me with a blank stare because they were cold I had no choice but to find a repair company. So at 1:00 in the morning, after trying to start the furnace myself I called Reed Heating and Air Conditioning to get a emergency appointment. Not only did Mr. Reed return my call two minutes after I called him, he was able to schedule my appointment the same day. Mr. Reed was very personable and understanding. He arrived at my home before our scheduled time and got my furnace working within 30-45 minutes. I would highly recommend him for your heating and air conditioning needs.

My wife called me in the middle of the day to let me know the heat was out - my heart sank. It was early afternoon on Friday and the prospect of spending the weekend in a house whose interior temperature was gradually sinking closer to freezing didn't strike me as particularly pleasant.



But she found Reed Heating & AC online, luckily for me, and Kevin Reed was able to come out to the house on the same day and very speedily fix the problem on our heater. Not only that, he added an extra support for the drip pipe because he noticed that it was placing a lot of pressure on the intake. I really appreciated that - he took the time to notice and fix something that wasn't even the cause of the problem we'd called him to solve.



He was friendly and professional, and certainly will be first on my list for any related repair in the future.

Mr. Kevin Reed is a lifesaver! I had a gas leak in my home, which required a furnace shutdown by the gas company. The temperature outside was in the low thirties and a snowstorm threatened the area. The company I called could not provide service before two days. My home was freezing and the water pipes began to leak! --PANIC TIME!!!



My father called Mr. Reed who came to my aid almost immediately. He diagnosed and explained the problems and proceeded to make repairs. Not only did he repair the damages, but he also winterized the furnace. He advised me how to maintain the furnace and patiently answered all of my questions. I was delighted to find out that he provides electrical services, as well as plumbing and heating.



Mr. Reed was knowledgeable, courteous, well-mannered, friendly, and the service he provided was excellent. I will definitely call him for future services! He has found a new, loyal customer! I would highly recommend Mr. Kevin Reed to anyone needing his services.

I spoke with Mr. Kevin Reed by chance one day as I work in a call center and he had some questions for me. He seemed very enthusiastic about his business and although I do not live in the area he seems to be a very hardworking and loyal man to anything he commits to. First, let me say I didn't know Kevin Reed until I came across the reviews on-line. I was amazed by the high praise and positive tone of each review.

When I called Kevin to inquire about repairing my AC, I asked if the people writing were his friends and he told me NO, each person is former customer.



Now, I am a former / current customer/client about to post a positive review.



In a nut shell, Kevin properly diagnosed and fixed the problem with my AC unit that another, very, well known company not only misdiagnosed but made worse only weeks before. In fact, the heat in our house was so bad, prior to Kevin's work, my wife and I had to endure the 4th of July heat wave by sitting under a misting fan, with cold wash cloths dipped in ice water to get by.



After Kevin serviced our AC, our house was not only cool, but my wife and I actually laughed because our house was actually too cold. (I call that a dilemma, not a problem.)



In fact, our AC unit now runs more efficiently, cooler, and quieter than ever before.



I will not use anyone else to for my HVAC needs in the future. And further, I strongly urge -- no, implore -- anyone reading this to save their money and time, as well as their personal comfort and home harmony by doing the same.



Kevin is professional, knowledgeable, pleasant, and timely -- all qualities that made my wife comfortable with his service in my absence. Further, when he is running late, he calls in advance and keeps you abreast of his estimated time of arrival.

During this blistering heat wave, my air conditioning unit died (of course) and having a house full of guests, my parents and my fiancee from Helsinki...needless to say it was UNBEARABLE!!!! A phone call to Reed Heating and Air conditioning resulted in a rapid response. I was impressed how Roger, was so professional about calling and telling us when he would arrive, and the timely fashion my air conditioning was back to purring along smoothly. I have seasonal allergies. I was unsure what was causing them in my home. I was then referred to Reed Heating & A/C for a home air quality assesssment. After his assessment he showed me how he improved my filter operation aka (filter service) and being doing this it cleans the air to catch more of the "airborne" particles.



I highly recommend that everyone gets a Filter Service assessment now....
