I recently bought a co-op apartment in Brooklyn and was lucky enough to find Pro Paint Squad to do some work in the apartment before I moved in. I was looking for someone to paint the apartment, as well as refinish the wood floors. From the very first phone call I knew this was going to be a great experience, and it was!

I was quite nervous about the whole process as I hadn't done it before, but both Marcy and Jigi were so helpful and patient and responsive to all of my questions and needs that my fears were alleviated.

Jigi came to the apartment for the initial estimate. He was prompt and professional. He listened to what we wanted and was willing to work within our parameters of time and budget. He promptly generated a quote, unlike some other contractors who took days to respond.

One of the most important things during any home improvement project is time, and I was thoroughly impressed with the promptness not only of the quote/contract process but the entire job! The painters showed up on time, on the day the job began, and were finished before we expected. The floor work began a day later, no waiting or wondering when the contractors would show up and complete the job. (They even stayed late to finish the job as a major snowstorm was rolling in!)

The job they did was tremendous! The paint job wasn't simple: We had selected multiple colors, as well as covering some very dark old paint. We even asked for a few accent walls, and the detail work was excellent.

The floors were also no easy task: old, glued-on laminate had to be sanded down, and a patch needed to be put in. Jigi went out of his way to find old reclaimed wood for the patch, and you can hardly even tell it's not original!

I can't say enough about this company! I recommend Pro Paint Squad to all of my friends now, and am looking forward to more home improvement projects in the future!

I retained Pro Paint Squad (found in the directory of painting contractors on HGTV.com) in September 2010 to handle the following tasks in my one bedroom apartment at Trump Place on the Upper West Side: (a) patch numerous cracks in the wall plaster; (b) repaint the entire interior; and (c) repair some loose tiles in the shower stall. They did a stellar job on the project, which took 5 days (in line with the estimate provided by contractor Jigi Matthew). Jigi and his crew were courteous and helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The cost of the project was in line with my expectations.
