How many of you caught the Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday, May 31, 2000? Including Napa Valley as part of a show about great vacation spots, the show featured tour guide Tracy Gallagher, host on the Travel Channel. If you had watched, you would have discovered fun and interesting places for couples, families and singles. “Not Your Typical Vacation (Getaways for Two)” highlighted the Culinary Institute at Greystone and hot air ballooning above the Napa Valley. There we were – our Big Top in the center of things!
Celebrity Flight, July, 2004: In an installment of a special series, the Today Show travel editor Peter Greenberg took a three-day side-trip from San Francisco which included a hot air balloon flight in Napa Valley with Napa Valley Balloons, Inc.

Pre-Flight We welcome you at our pre-dawn check-in with coffee, an assortment of teas and pastries, whole fruit and juice. After a brief pilot orientation you are taken to our launch site. Upon arrival at our launch site you are greeted by a bustle of activity. The hum of the inflator fans, the lively colors of our state-of-the-art balloons and the roar of the burners. Our well trained and skilled staff ensures a safe and comfortable launch. Lift off! Burners roar and then silence. Gently, the balloon lifts into the early morning breeze that peacefully carries you above corridors of grapes and between the mountains of one of the most magnificent valleys on Earth. As you drift along you feel no wind for you have become the wind. From tree tops to magnificent panoramic views, your experienced and knowledgeable pilot will act as your guide and welcomes questions from you and fellow adventures pointing out local points of interest and the Valley’s extraordinary beauty. Napa Valley Balloons, Inc, boasts the newest, most beautiful hot air balloons in the Napa Valley. Our fleet ranges in balloon sizes allowing us to comfortably accommodate groups of anywhere from 2 to 16 passengers per balloon. Enchantment, romance, and excitement fill every colorful moment of this graceful adventure. The flight will last an hour but the memories will last a lifetime. Your first impulse after a gently touch down is to say, “Let’s do it again!”. - FROM NAPA – BAY AREA From San Francisco, cross the Oakland Bay Bridge and take Interstate 80 eastbound towards Sacramento. In the Vallejo area take the Napa exit (Marine World Expressway/Hwy 37 West), go over I-80 on this off-ramp and proceed approximately 3 miles westbound to Highway 29. Turn Right (North) at Highway 29 and travel north to Napa. Remain on Hwy 29 and follow signs towards Yountvill
