Carmel Police called Miller's Towing to tow our daughter's car. The driver in the cab told both myself and my husband (separately and at different times) that the cost would be $175 plus $25/day storage. Nothing was said about mileage. When we went to clean out the car, the bill was $325... $175 towing plus $30 for 10 miles, plus $120 ($40/day) storage. We were told by the owner/office personnel that the driver would NEVER have told us this (We were liars). The only good thing was that we were told that a salvage yard would pick up the car for free and give us $200 so Miller's offered to credit our bill for the $200 and we only paid them $125 plus the car. LESSON: Get EVERYTHING in writing and don't always use the police's towing service even though they are the first to arrive on the scene.
