I give 5 stars because they got to the root of the problem and taught me how to fix it. Finally my little dog no longer go to the bathroom in my house! I can open my blinds the barking is so much better. I recommend Lehigh Valley Dog Training highly.

My name is Jen. I am very happy to write this review for my husband Bob and I. We rescued our pit bull mix, Buddy about 2 years ago. At first we couldn't believe how nice of a dog he was. He came to us with great house manners. Pretty good on his walks. Just a nice all around dog. My husband who had been wanting a dog for years was just smitten. After about 2 months we started seeing a disturbing change. When Buddy would see a dog he would become ridged. At first we would go in another direction. After a while it became worse and then terrible. He started sitting at the window and flipping out when dogs walked by. We were forced into walking him very late and early. By this spring we'd had enough. We talked with the owner for quite som time before we made the appointment. Gwenevere came with her assistant and her training dog. They were able to calm buddy way down. Not perfect but they taught us how keep him calm. We have come to several of the socializing and obedience classes. Buddy is way better. He only struggles to keep his composure when another dog barks at him. That gets better each week. Gwenevere moved us into what she calls the good boy class a few weeks ago. We put lots of work into training Buddy and we are so happy that we did this. Our harts would have been broken if he would have hurt someone's dog. Lehigh valley dog training did a great job. Gwenevere has the patience of a saint. A huge thank you goes out to Gwenevere and her staff.

My family is very happy with the outcome of our in home session with Lehigh valley dog training. Gwen was very patient with my children while teaching them as well as our Baily. 8 month old golden retriever. I should have done this 4 months ago. He has settled down a lot. Finally housebroken. We can walk him now!!! I've started enjoying him again. I highly recommend hiring her.

I really love my dog and I really love the way Gwen found solutions for me. I'm Carolyn my dog Ziggy needed to stop doing a few things that were driving me crazy. 9 month old Boxer. First on my list was he would jump on my daughters bed and take a crap! Yep your reading this right. Next was barking the entire time he was in the crate. Number 3 on my list. I couldn't walk him. He would jump and wrap his legs around the leash then pull forward knocking me over and on top of him. I think my neighbors were setting up lawn chairs to watch this whole show. I finally just stopped walking Ziggy. When I called Lehigh Valley Dog Training I was surprised to actually talk with the owner, Gwenevere. She listened intently asked questions and then told me how she could help. I am very pleased with the results. I did exactly what she told me to do the next time Ziggy tried to poop on the bed. He hasn't tried to do it since. He is much quieter in the crate some complaining going in but not to bad. Walks are great now and the jumping is under better control. A work in progress for that one. Thanks for reading I hope this is helpful.

My name is Jenny my husband and I really needed help with our new rescue. Our first dog. We were told Bella was house broken. Good with other dogs. Loves everyone. I don't know if they lied or what but none of the above was true. We decided to call Gwenevere before we gave up on her. We are very happy. Gwenevere and her helper had Bella turned around rather quickly. Bella is much better. I love the way she set her classes up. We can come to as many classes that we want to. Thanks. Jenny and Bob from Easton pa.

I hired Lehigh Valley dog Training for my mother. Her little terrier mix had bitten my 12 year old son. My husband was adamant about getting rid of the dog. Naturally my mom was heartbroken. I was so torn. I called and spoke to the owner. Gwen was very patient while listening. When I was done she simply said, the dog has Lap Aggression. I had never heard of this so she explained that when someone gets to close to my mother the dog feels the need to become aggressive. She said she could fix this. So I hired her. She fixed it and with some work on our part it is gone completely. He did try to revert a few days later but we knew exactly what to do and he did not try it again. So thank you Gwenevere. Also my mom wanted me to thank you for the house breaking help. She said that worked as well.

My name is Barbra. I've never written a review before but my experience with Lehigh valley dog training was so interesting. I think worthy of sharing with anyone willing to read this. The owner, Gwen is extremely knowledgeable. She was on time, professional, worked very hard and didn't seem to notice that my house was a mess. We were in the middle of a major remodel. My terrier mix, Sam would not be house broken. Gwen showed me what to do. A week later, 2 accidents a week rather than 5 a day. Now 3 weeks later no accidents AT ALL!!! Sam was an insane barker. He would sit on the back of the love seat and carry on all day. A leaf would blow and the barking would start. Someone would stop by and his barking would become so nuts that he would start trying to bite guests on their ankles and feet. I had stopped letting my 15 year old daughter have her friends over. Sam is so much better better now. He has even learned to stay quiet on walks when he sees other dogs. Thanks Gwen. I should have called you sooner.

My family is more than happy with how Lehigh valley dog training has affected our household. My husband and I were arguing about all the things are dog was doing. The stealing was out of control. Walking her, forget that he would just pull me over. A nightmare when my daughter would bring our granddaughter over. We had to lock Duke upstairs. Honestly I was ready to give him away. Things are so much better. I have fun with Duke now. Gwenevere even tonight him how to play fetch and Duke brings the ball back to me. No stealing and he is nice on a leash now. I'm very happy. So thank you Gwen. Laura and Bill with Duke.

My name is Patty and I thought I needed to write this review about Gwenevere. She is passionate about her work as a behaviorist and very good at her work. My dog penny had a very upsetting behavior that had gone from bad to worse over night. We just didn't know what to do. She would bark growl and lung at all other dogs. It was so embarrassing but we could live with it. Then one day Penny saw another dog and turned her growling and snapping at me while I was restraining her. She ripped my pants with her teeth! I then started looking for help. I liked Gwen right away on the phone she walked me through what her plan was. She brought her training dog and an assistant. Gwen got Penny under control very quickly. She made a huge difference that day. I brought Penny to several behavior classes and now I have a quiet calm girl around other dogs. Lehigh Valley Dog Training knows their stuff. I recommend highly. We are thinking about getting another dog. A puppy. I am going the ask Gwen to come back to work with us when we do. We want to start off the right way this time. In the mean time we are enjoying Penny's walks again.

After having Lehigh Valley Dog Training to my home I thought a review was necessary. Guinevere came to my family as a Animal Behaviorist more so than a Trainer. I am very happy. My dog Milly, a German Shepard husky mix, was doing a multitude of perplexing things. We were simply putting up with increasingly bad behaviors: leash pulling, jumping and sitting at the windows and barking. When she began to growl at my 9 and 10 year old daughters my husband and I realized we needed help. I called Gwen. She is a great listener and waited until I finished my story about Milly. She explained how my daughters had become litter mates to Milly. Gwen taught Milly to stop all growling. I love what she said. We have to live in a no growling zone. Gwen worked with my kids in a way that made them feel useful. She taught them how to play constructive games with her. I love my quieter house. The barking has settled way down. We can take her on walks again. I'm especially thankful for the growling to have stopped. Every day gets better and better. We are actually enjoying our summer!

Recently decided to rescue a dog - really wanted a puppy, but I knew there were too many older dogs that needed a good home. Lehigh Valley Dog Training was recommended to me by a friend who has used their services previously and appreciated the results.

The dog I adopted had been in the shelter system for almost a year, so as you can imagine he picked up a few bad habits, but nothing that couldn't be fixed in time.

Gwenevere and assistant came to the house and allotted us roughly 3-4 hours of their time. For $300, I think that is great, especially since 2 or 3 pairs of my shoes cost about that much and had I let the dog continue down his path, I'd have no more shoes....

They got to know Whiskey (the dog), they asked me how his transition has been since being introduced to my home, they worked on all the key issues that I had been battling.

Whiskey is doing so great now, a few minor adjustments here and there (he likes to push the envelope) but all in all, this training was such a success. I haven't had a chance to bring him to the Sunday classes I was told about, but intend on doing so in the next few weeks - I think that is a great addition to the program, so many dogs don't get socialized early on and it turns out to be negative for them - I am glad Lehigh Valley dog training has the best interest of the dog in mind. Thank you!

About a year ago my dog was hit by a car and had a head injury. He became aggressive towards my husband and we were desperate to find some one that could help him and us. I found Marx training online and called them. We agreed to have them come to my home and evaluate him and see if they could help us. We were charged $600 plus were told we needed a muzzle and prong collar from them. We spent about 3 hours talking about the situation and doing different interactive lessons. At the end of the session she said that she believed she could help us and would we agree to go to the weekly group sessions. Of course we agreed as we were thrilled that she thought she could help. Went to the first session and it went pretty well with basic commands....not what we were looking for. Her boyfriend the "aggression specialist" wouldn't even come near him. Went to a few more sessions with not getting the help we needed and asked for. The last session he was becoming extremely agitated so I said we are done here. She pretty much told me I was giving into a spoiled child and that I should stay and finish class. That wasn't in anyone's best interest. We left. Unfortunately due to his head injury we had to euthenize him. I would never recommend these people to anyone. Big scam that I am sorry I wasted my time and money on.

We have used Gwen & her team to help us with a little 10 lb rescue, Doxie-Jack mix. She had several issues that needed IMMEDIATE correction. I was surprised by the prong collar but it does not hurt your dog & is far better than allowing them to pull against a soft collar and collapse their trachea. Our little spitfire immediately stopped bolting through open doors to freedom, walked like a perfect little lady on her leash and stopped attacking our other dogs. All this was after the initial meeting. After a few weeks of class, she moved to the advanced class, became a therapy dog & also an ambassador dog. So it is not just big aggressive dogs that benefit from this type of training. We have seen many dogs graduate from the anger management group & become dogs that can interact with other dogs and people without the fear of aggression and they were not all big dogs. Our little girl goes for walks everyday and she doesn't want to go without her prong collar. I would never have agreed to use it if I thought I was hurting my dog. I have used treat & clicker training with other dogs & it does work for dogs that can focus well. I have seen dogs that never completed treat training because their owners became so frustrated with their bad behavior. I wonder what happens to these animals. Gwen & her staff love animals and they work hard to give them all the opportunity to become wonderful companions that u can take anywhere. Don't be put off by Doglover's review. Do not criticize what u don't know.

Words can not express my sincere gratitude I have for Gwenevere Marx and her team. My German Shepherd Rosco was scheduled to be put down due to his severe aggression towards humans. He bit his last person and I thought there was no hope for him. The day before he was to be euthanized I called Gwenevere and the next day she and her assistant were at my house working with him. Within the first 30 minutes my fiancé and I could see a difference in him. And by the time she left, I did not recognize my dog!

Since our meeting we have had friends and family over and are able to take him out without fear of what Rosco may do. Something we never though would happen.

Everyone I have met through Marx's Dog Training, has been professional, confident and well educated in every aspect of dog behavior. They do NOT make you feel as though you are at fault or that you have made a mistake with your dog. Marx's trainers will guild you and educate you on how to be a wonderful dog mom/dad and give you the necessary tools to make a happy home.

I truly hope anyone in my situation will contact these amazing people. I am just upset I did not call them sooner! Thank you again Gwenevere Marxs and staff for saving not just my dogs life, but mine too!

This is the first trainer I've had that came to my house and actually evaluated my dogs in their home environment. I have a dog-aggressive dog that has made tremendous progress with her training techniques. Really enjoy the continuing group classes that we can attend all summer. Having a large class full of dogs to reinforce better behavior skills is really helpful. Gwenevere has complete command over the dogs and amazingly remembers what each one needs. Best classes we've been to.

Wow is all I can say. Gwenevere and her assistant did an amaaaazing job training my so-called untrainable dog. I had gone to a local trainer for group classes and after 3 weeks of no results was told that my dog was un-trainable by the trainer. When I asked for my money back for the unused lessons (I paid for 6 lessons) I was told that I could keep comming to the training but I would have to work with my dog away from the rest of the class. When I declined her offer she told me there was no refunds! I left feeling like I had been totally ripped off! I told the story to a co-worker who suggested I call Marx's dog training as she had wonderfull results with her dog with them. Boy am I glad I did. Gwenevere was able to teach my dog everything the other trainer couldn't in a single day!! All I can say is wow!!!

I would highly recommend Gwenevere and her team for anyone who has an aggressive dog. She does not use shock collars or stunguns on the dogs contrary to some reviews. We found our mutt on the streets and he had major anxiety and aggression issues. He had biten everyone in the house and would spite potty. The in-home session was 3-4hrs and we saw a drastic improvement in our dog. We were able to groom him for the 1st time in 4 years without getting bitten or injuryed. She does use a prong collar on the dog for training, but also offers the dog praise (hugs and kisses) when doing things correctly. She has over 20years of experience and it showed. I dont know why someone would claim that she is a fraud when she has such big turnouts at her follow-up classes. The follow-up classes are free and held outside. The reason most likely is how are you going to fit 80 dogs and owners in one building.

I don't usually leave reviews ...

I don't usually leave reviews but I think this needs to be said! I was refered to Gwenevere Marx by my Aunt who is currently going through Gwenevere's service dog training program. She had nothing but great things to say about the training she is recieving. I decided to check out her website by doing a search on Google to help my dogs aggressive behavior when he is around other dogs. I had 2 other trainers work with him with no success. I was quite taken aback when I read the reviews on YP. It seems that there are two different Gwenevere Marx's. One is a caring and phenominal trainer who has multiple Rreaders Choice Awards and a video on WEBmd at the time of this review. The other "Gwenevere" is an out of control monster that tortures dogs and takes peoples hard earned money against their will. I wonder if she also punches children, makes baby dolphins cry and clubs baby seals. Based on the reviews of my aunt I decided to give Gwenevere a call. I was astounded to find out that she doesnt charge a penny untill the in-home training session is completed! Why would these nameless and faceless reviewers have paid Gwenevere if they weren't happy in the first place. After seeing the incredible results of turning my dog aggressive springer spaniels behavior around in several hours I was a believer! At no time was my dog mis-handled or in any way fearful. I attended the follow up training with about 70 other dogs and clients of Gwenevere. I spoke with some of them and no-one had a bag thing to say about their training experience. Quite the opposite--they were all as amazed as I was. It is unfortunate that YP allows these clearly ridiculous negative reviews by jealouse competetors ( I have dealt with this exact issue in my own business) to be put on their site anonymously. Gwenevere is the best dog trainer I have ever had the honor of working with. She should have her own tv show. Tony Miller--Catasauqua, Pa

My personal experience with Gw...

My personal experience with Gwen@MarxDogTraining was outstanding. My dog- aggressive shepherd was transformed with Gwen's home visit, following the techniques to prevent/correct his aggressive behavior and attendance at her follow-up group classes. He has gone on to achieve an obedience title, canine good citizen certification and graduated from service dog program. His positive behavior transformation has also been witnessed by my local obedience club. If you put in the work & follow Gwen's instructions for your dog's particular issues and attend her group classes you will achieve success; if you do not you will write a negative review on this site (:-) Thank you Gwen/Marx Dog Training!
