Provided by YP.comCourtesy Appliance Repair was hired to replace a refrigerator compressor. The compressor had broken internal springs. The refrigerator was in perfect condition otherwise. I witnessed very little of the actual repair process, but here are my observations after the three hour repair had been completed:
1) Pry marks on the bottom edge of the refrigerator.
2) Dent in the edge of the freezer door.
3) Worn grocery store twist tie used to hold the water line off of the floor (sort of).
4) Multiple bends in the vertical edge of the compressor base plate.
5) Cracked relay cover.
6) Compressor ground wire stretched taut around the compressor relay cover.
7) Compressor ground wire screw loose.
8) Main power ground wire not connected!
9) Brazed connections lumpy and twice the diameter of the tubing. (Skimpy 30 day warranty only on this part of the job!)
10) Low pressure refrigerant line trapped on the outside of the base plate.
11) Slit tubing missing from the low pressure line.
12) Anti-rattle sleeve missing from the dryer.
13) Two compressor mounting clips missing.
14) One compressor grommet hanging in mid-air.
15) One compressor grommet found lying under the condenser.
16) Reused the old run capacitor.
17) Miscellaneous missing parts from the old compressor and the new compressor installation kit.
The refrigerator does work, so if you don’t mind a bit of “collateral damage”, call Leo at Courtesy Appliance Repair.

Provided by YP.comI'm only giving one star because you have to in order to leave a review. I am very disappointed with this service call. I will never refer Leo Acosta based on the experience i received today. I called to set an appointment to have my washing machine looked at. Before setting the appointment, 2 days in advance, Leo was told the make and model number of the machine, as well as what the issue was- the agitator was not working. Upon arrival, he said "OH, they don't make this model any longer. You can't get parts for it, so I can't fix it." Let me make a few calls to some colleagues. After stepping out for a short time, he comes back with the same answer. Then, he emphasizes several times more that the machine is very old...13 years...and that they don't make parts for it. He said "They realized it was a bad design, so they stopped making it."
The one helpful piece of information that he gave me: the strand of material that I thought may have gotten caught in the agitator was no match for the strength of the machine.
I told him that I was very disappointed, that he could have told me this over the phone. He gave the excuse that he forgot what kind of machine it was. He was so busy running around.
He could have spared both of us the appointment time after the first conversation.

Provided by YP.comReal customer giving a review for courtesy appliance since the only other review here is actually the owner of the company. This "appliance" repair man was hired to fix my (2year old) microwave before even looking at it he had already estimated a repair price of $200. Once inspecting it he came to the conclusion that he was not going to be able to repair it and suggested we hire an electrician because he simply does not do that kind of work. Needless to say he "thought" the problem might be with a breaker within the microwave he still charged $80.00 (lowered from the initial 200 he was going to charge earlier). How can an appliance repairman not deal with the electrical inside an appliance????? As he put back the microwave he managed to scratch the cabinet as well!
If that wasn't bad enough as soon as he got to my house he asked to use the restroom (no big deal) . Well to put it lightly we didn't have to guess what he was doing in there since he left PLENTY of residue as evidence. He did tell us he ran out of TP but he managed whatever that means. Did I mention I live in San Dimas and his business/home is in San dimas!
What really makes me mad is that he had to guts to ask for a tip after all of that!
