The Poulsbo Police Department maintains social order and peace, as well as provides law enforcement services. It offers services for the protection of residents lives and their property, as well as the deterrence, detection and investigation of criminal activities. The police department is comprised of administrative and patrol divisions with special units for traffic enforcement and driving under the influence cases. In addition, the Poulsbo Police Department maintains K-9, narcotics, investigations, and marine and bicycle patrol divisions. It employs a staff of more than 60 full-time sworn officers, civilians and community volunteers. The police department also offers several support services, including gun registration, animal control, fingerprinting, concealed weapon permits, and traffic and parking law enforcement.
