And the second review sending pics of the exterior of you chimney and you thimble hole dosnt mean they know what it looks like in side the chimney can't judge a book by it's cover!

These guys also installed a stove from Woodstove, Fireplace & Patio shop in Littleton for me. I questioned why they replaced a double chimney cap with a single one when they installed the stove. I was told that they had sealed off everything and it was fine. I just had to pay another company to fix their work. My stove may be damaged. I won't be dealing with this company again

Recently my wife and I decided to install a wood stove chimney. After looking around for reputable chimney sweeps we came across Barry John Chimney Services out of Franklin MA. Looking for an estimate I decided to call. Unfortunately the sales rep I spoke with made me feel like I was at a car dealership.

Long story short. The estimate for a chimney made with Selkirk class A double wall stove pipe was $3500. While I don't doubt the quality of their service they were ridiculously overpriced. On a positive note I found the chimney sweep they sent out to assess the job quite personable.

Be very cautious with these guys. Get a firm quote before they do any work. In my case they tried to add additional charges for work that was not included in their quote. They were hired as a subcontractor of "The Stoveshop" in Littleton. Their installers were nice enough guys but weren't prepared for the job the first day they came to my house. They didn't have the tools or supplies on their truck. This was despite the fact that they were given pictures of the entire job before they were scheduled to come out and do the job. We had to schedule a second visit that they wanted to charge me for. They eventually did the job after half a dozen phone calls and hagging back and forth. The whole experience was a real hassle. The reason you hire a contractor is so the job goes smoothly. This contractor, I would not reccommend.
