Duncan Scottie Ballantyne, Sr. established Scottie Ballantyne Roofing in 1965. A master slater, trained in his native country of Scotland, Scottie brought the tradition and perfection of his trade to the United States. As he formed the company, he patterned it after the old world four year apprenticeship-to-master slater program similar to the one he served in Scotland. Duncan Jr. followed his Father legacy, took over the company in 1995, and continues to preserve the quality and personal service our customers deserve. Scottie Ballantyne Roofing, Inc. is one of the few roofing companies that uses only our own employees, trained in the trade of slate and tile roofing.
