Very rude, unprofessional receptionist on March 31,2017. Avoid dealing with this establishment at all costs

As with many others who have reviewed on this practice, they are very unprofessional, keep you waiting forever on the phone never getting an answer. Mr. Paul Harris is not a professional at all.

The doctor and the assistants were great. HOWEVER, you can not call them DIRECT and you cant go threw an automative recording to select your location. (they have more than one location) You have to go threw a main phone number which the same girl answers each time. And you have to ask for the location you want. I had to call them 4 or 5 times in a couple hours and the girl was annoyed when I would call back. (very un-professional) then the girls that answer for the location I was calling were no better. When I got threw the last time the girl at the front desk of the location I was at said *I tried calling back* very snotty like. I said well you did not leave a message. So she asked for a fax number I had already given them 2 hours prior. I had been waiting the whole 2 hours for the fax just to find out they lost it. Also, when she asked for it I asked if the one I gave her didnt work. she was quick to reply with attitude. *you didnt give the nunber to ME* I said I gave it to the girl sitting next to you. It was one of you that answered the first time I called that I gave the number to. She said NOTHING. Then at the end of the call she hung up and didnt say bye. VERY RUDE OFFICE STAFF AND ANSWERING SERVICES. So yes the doctor was great but its not worth the stress your put under trying to get something done with them.

The office staff is not very helpful. make sure YOU are in compliance with their rule for scheduling your visits. They tried to charge us a copay for a appointment that THEY scheduled 1 week after the "90 day" THey are in control of the office visit scheduling and they want to charge us for being 7 days out of their rule. crazy??? The secretary for the doctor we saw was also very rude and unhelpful. Its ashame because Dr. Shawl seemed like a good doctor, he did my husbands surgery 4 or 5 years ago and my son back in March.

if you have a out of state comp case don't go here and if you like a dr. that can listen to you ,don't go here they are as fast as anything with no time to spare and you still wait forever, they are to busy, go else where. There is more talking in the hall as far as time then you get to speak to the dr. The nurses are all dolls though ,very nice.

You should bring lunch with your when waiting to be seen by one of the doctors at Atlantic Orthopedic in the Kempsville office.

I told the doctor I wish I brought a snack with me when waiting so long to be seen and he replied I wish you brought one for me,When I finally left the janitor was going home.
