I think the other review was fake news. Another Roofing Company probable did. American Roofing has been in Business for 42 years. Quality work and never takes money up front and requires a signed contract before starting the Job. Fake News Review is caught in two lies up front!!!

I hired this contractor based on being a local company and been in the area for years. I had a verbal agreement to do roofing on my home due to a leak in my roof above the dining room. It was verbally agreed that for $1800.00 the contractor would add a layer of shingles to the unaffected roof of the house and to tear off the singles, remove the 1x4 decking and replaced with 4x8 deck sheets and re-roof that section of the roof. After the handshake I walked away confident that my roof would be taken care of. They arrived on the morning they said they would with all the materials on their trailer (including the 4x8 sheets of decking) I went off to work for the day, and upon my return home the job was done and all was cleaned up. I must also mention that I made the mistake of paying for it all upfront,, my mistake,, lesson learned. I didn't get up and inspect the work as i took their word, that they would do what they said they would for the price agreed upon. well after the first big rain,, much to my dismay and shock what did i see, water dripping out of my ceiling where the leak was prior to my new roof. I had cut an inspection hole in my already damaged sheetrock ceiling to find that there wasn't any new sheets of decking there on the rafters but those old 1x4 boards and then i climbed out onto the roof to find that shingles had been just added to the additional ones,, making for 3,, yes 3 layers of shingles where only 1 layer and new decking was supposed to have been. I immediately called the contractor up and ended up having to leave a message on their machine. I had a seat on the couch and about 15 minutes later I noticed the American Roofing and Construction truck drive by my house very slowing looking out the window, and then sped up and drove off. I made several attempts again to contact them,, even leaving another message that I saw them drive by after my first phone call. After several calls and no return call from the contractor, I contaced the attorney generals office and the better business bureau and filed a complaint. After discussing the issue with them, they took my complaint and sent certified letters to them and never did AMERICAN ROOFING AND CONSTRUCTION make an attempt to contact them or myself in regards to this complaint. The AG's office did inform me that they had confirmation of them getting the certified letters from their office. Well after about a year of dealing with this,, my roof still leaks and now im having to go through and find another contractor to do the job right,, after several repairs of my sheetrock ceiling after several heavy rains.. more money will be put into my roof. Please do yourself a favor and avoid these guys... they ripped me off and also did a crappy roofing job for my parents as well right after they did mine.
