This was not my first time getting roof work done, I had been through bad experiences before I moved here.

I called around and got 4 bids. ( from yellow pages) except 1 , which was word of mouth only. They do not advertise in the Yellow Pages or on the Internet, other than this old "find a business" and review that I just found after the fact.

Their bid was not the lowest, which I learned to stay away from -especially if it is substantial, that is a GAME a lot of dishonest Roofers play, Come in Low, and then find New things to amend to the bill and then hit them high. After the fact that you signed a contract of course. You would be paying more than the top bid or at least similar with dishonest work. Akers Roofing Inc. was Honest and Reliable, and great at answering all my questions. They were careful not to step on my newly landscaped yard, and even painted all the flashings to match the color of the roof tiles. When the job was completed - all the remnants and trash left over from the job were hauled off , they even let me throw in a few things I needed hauled off too !! They were very personable, and did a professional job. Since then I have used them for a new Barn and a Granny flat. I would rather use someone word of mouth, then someone paying to advertise. It only takes one unhappy customer to kill a "word of mouth business".
